  • Oi blaa ... arenemisruumi on jonnipoisil veel kyllaga ... põrrr vrnnn vend ...keep on going,it s so good to see actually how youre working and checking everything over :)

  • Hi.There is any special considerations with a ABS systems??? I have a 09 Sentra with ABS and I want to know if I can push the pistons on the caliper back in without loosing the bleeders. Thanks

  • @anrodri2010 Nope, may want to clean the sensor while your down there. Yes, you don't want to open up the bleeders. You can take the cap off the fill resevoir to make them push in a little easier.

  • What about when you change the pads from old to new ones. When they are thicker because theyre new will you have to press out the caliper to make them fit? I have an 05 as well.

  • @repairdrive You'll need to use a c-clamp to push the pistons on the caliper back in. If you look at some of my other brake videos I explain it a bit.

  • @Johnnysshop Ahhhh, ok. I'll check that out. Great videos. Thanks.

  • Hey I didn't see you remove the tire. I want the same magic pls loool

  • @btrueeth I just bought a Nissan Altima GLE 2000 Year Mfg, the brakes squeal when I step on them especially in the mornings.

  • @btrueeth Could need new pads or they could just be really cheap pads.

  • @btrueeth LOL

  • I have a 2007 Nissan Altima 2.5S. I put new brake pads but my rotors are dark and rusted looking. Should I replace them or just get some rust cleaner to get it off? They don't squeak though after I put new brake pads leaving in the old rotors however when braking (After driving for 6 months) it felt super weird, like tapping the brake and suddenly stopping.

  • @VoyageofLaputa Rust won't hurt them. Only change them if they are deeply grooved or warped. You should be okay.

  • I WANT THAT COMPRESSOR AND TOOLS! It sounds like you just took the car to a nascar pitstop to get the car fixed.

  • @VoyageofLaputa LOL.. I love the sound of them!

  • Thanks for getting back to me so fast. I'll try your suggestion Johnnysshop. kwonghuok145 thank you also. I had the rotor turned when I changed the brake pads. Is that what you mean by skimming them? I heard from a friend yesterday that this does not always take the warping out. I might have just buy new ones.

  • @MrMacnab68 Yeah, shimming mean turning them. They could possibly be warped. You can replace them pretty cheap. I have a detailed video on how to replace the rear rotors (fronts are pretty much the same).

  • My girlfriend has 2005 Nissan Altima. When she is driving at higher speeds. Especially on the freeway and she steps on the brake pedal. The steering wheel shakes like crazy . I changed the front brakes pads and had the rotors turn because I thought the rotors were warped. I drove it on the freeway after I changed the brakes and it's still doing the same thing. The car has about 68,000 miles on it. Any ideas what it could be? The car does need tires. I'm thinking maybe this is the problem.

  • @MrMacnab68 Could be tires, jack it up and move the tires to make sure the tierods aren't bad.

  • @MrMacnab68 it must be the rotors, u need to skim the rotor to make the surface balance or smooth

  • Nice vide. Have a 2002 nissan frontier and have to change pads soon, before christmas. In the haynes manual. It stats to spray everything with brake cleaner, for before doing a brake job. I don't know if you should do that or not.

  • @jerry736 I usually only spray the rotors with cleaner.

  • Hi thanks for the great vid! I've got an 05 3.5SE as well and was told my rears are low so I was going to try my hand at replacing the pads. I see that it is really easy, but everywhere else that I've read up on changing brakes (on any car, not just altimas) they always mention using brake pad grease to prevent brake noise, did you use grease when you replaced your pads?

Also, should I change out the rotors as well? They look ok and I know I haven't been grinding into them so is it necessary?

  • @elnino2783 I used grease but forgot to mention it. I do have a rear brake video listed now which I mention the grease. Only change the rotors if they are deeply scared or warped. If you brake pulses when stopping that's a sign of a warped rotor.

  • @Johnnysshop Thanks for the clarification, I'll be having a go at the brakes tomorrow

  • The squeeking is a known issue with altimas. The explaination from Nissan is that the material that the rotors for those cars are made out of, is very cheap material. I replaced my brake all around and took it too the dealer because of the squeel, and the service department said even if they resurfaced my rotors it would still happen. It got worst with the aftermarket pads.

  • @UndaRada Nice.. gotta love a BS explanation like that. I ended up changing the rotors in the rear (video posted) and it finally went away.

  • very helpful...thanks man.

  • @killsolo916 Thanks for watching!

  • same set-up for nissan pathfinder?

  • @igottagetmycam Pretty much!

  • Problem solved John, thanks for your response i did the fronts and it feels like a nice cushy sponge ,compared to the little grinding and shaky feeling i had and felt before i love this car,I will continue to watch your vids for more information about other problems with automobiles great vids my man

  • @opieto Sweet, thanks for watching!

  • Ok great will update you on the results of the work next week i appreiciate your response

  • @opieto Cool, let me know how it goes.

  • Ok great i think its that too ,your vidoe was a great help to understanding it ,BTW is it ok to change the fronts with new meat and then the rears later and do the brakes need to be bled?

  • @opieto That's fine. Most of the time the rears don't need changed anyway. Most of your stopping power comes from the front.

  • When you hear a tick tick tick tick tick sound while driving does that mean the brakes need to be changed or is that a warning sound

  • @opieto Could be the pad (wear sense clicking on the rotors), could be drive shaft, or anything. I'd start with the brakes.

  • when i put the new brake pads. the thing that goes on top dont fit because brake pads are large in diameter. what do i have to do? is there any adjustment on that pipe looking thing inside?

  • Did you compress the caliper back in?

  • when i try to put the caliper back in it doesn't fit because there isthing round circle in the caliper that is in the way. brake pads are new and i thing that round thing needs adjustment or i got the wrong pads ?

  • Your caliper has adjusted itself to the old worn down pads. You need to take an old pad, flip it so the pad is facing the cylinder and then take a c-clamp and compress it in. The new pads are larger because they are not worn down. I have somewhat of an example on my Pontiac rotor change video.

  • thank u so much

  • Thanks again!

  • NISSAN ALTIMA

  • Thanks for the vid it helps big time.

  • You're welcome. Thanks for the comment!

  • yea when they squek gotta put quit grease to chnage vibration frequency.

  • Yeah they still squeak a little. Cheap pads..

  • 70 degrees F ? Dang you are lucky! Its 47 degrees F here :( Awesome DIY break pads video, I love your vids man, keep up the good work. Thanks for sharing!

    Peace :)
