The Shells version was better, a true Doo Wop classic but this Kathy Young version is really sweet and when she croons
"Baby oh Baby" it just blows me away. She had a beautiful voice and was a unique talent in 1961. I remember this song at sock hops. Anyone remember them?
cracking song by Kathy young , very haunting like the shells version but love both songs

I was very surprised that Kathy Young was able to be barefoot on her album cover. Back then you couldn't even show a knee. LOL.

At 14, Kathy Young was a lady, not a girl. And I saw her a year or two on PBS' doo wop special, and she hardly has aged any, if at all.

Of course the Shells are king of this song, but if you're looking for a version that isn't so strong this is a good a choice.

I like Kathy's version too, kinda innocent, but the original has more depth and more of thesoo wop feel.

Originally done by The Shells in 1960 on Johnson 101. The first of abou a dozen records on the label. Hard to find doo wop.
