The man who while under Cardinal status sent out an updated version of the notorious 1962 Vatican document 'Crimen Sollicitationis' (Latin for The Crime of Solicitation) which imposed the Vatican's strict instructions on how to cover up sexual scandal. It even talked about slush funds, or 'hush' funds, being used to silence the victims!

A tremendous show of calm rational thinking to counter the intolerant, superstition of a church based on hate, shame and secrecy. Well done everyone at protest-the-pope for organising the event. I was on the march and the atmosphere was great. One lovely christian screamed hysterically at me that I was going to rot in hell - but that was pretty much the exception. A good day for people standing up for humanity, and not colluding with paedophile-protecting, holocost-denying catholics.
