  • what is that clicking chirping sound??

  • Very nice!!!

  • What's the info on PSDB1? I do believe I caught its return section one afternoon whilst heading to Altoona... Coming into Pennfield I saw the lights on the 153 crossing blinking, so the girlfriend and I chased it all the way to DuBois, and I caught it on video at the mall. I noticed it's BPRR from ditch lights to FRED, what is the purpose of this train?

  • @Nickboy90

It usually runs to the interchange in Driftwood and back, and sometimes serves the mine at Penfield.

  • Nice. I definitely think you made the right decision on which train to chase, that B&P orange sure looks nice, especially on an overcast day. Looking forward to watching the SIRI chase in the next video.

Just out of curiosity, exactly what is different between the versions of Vegas when it comes to creating lower thirds over the video content? I've had my experiences with a few types of editing applications when it's come to captions, though I have yet to touch Vegas.

  • @AliceInChains243

Well, it's funny. Version 9, which is the full version I have had and always used, is the most user friendly and is just a lot better in terms on adding simple things (like text captions) to your videos. However, the program just flat out sucks for rendering, and crashes while rendering 1080p files, while the never versions are the opposite, they'll render a bit faster and won't crash, but I hate the stupid caption tool in the newer versions. But it's pretty much all good.

  • @o00o00ozy Well, at least they didn't go all "iMovie Pro" on you like they did for the newest version of Final Cut, if they went that route then if anything adding text should be easier. Are they making you keyframe the text in manually or something? That's what I did in After Effects on that CR tribute of sorts video I put out a while back, it took forever to add in each title but they came out a bit cooler than the more standard ones I make in Premiere. (which I'm sticking to)

  • Thanks for the info.

  • Nice video. What's a CPL?

  • @optimus4800

Color Position Light. These particular style of signals were used by the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad, and are becoming a rarity as railroads replace them for modern signals.

  • Any idea if those SD45-2s you saw were re-powered?

  • @RailGunProductions

The SD45-2's are downgraded SD45's with 3200 horsepower. The SD40-3's are completely rebuilt with a 3,000 horsepower 16 cylinder engine while retaining the SD45 shell.

  • @o00o00ozy Thank you; I kinda figured that they were.

  • The description says this was shot on 1/14/12. I think you mean 1/04/12?

  • @criind

    Yeah, haha.

  • Love the sky in this dramatic opening dusk shot. The colorless winter grey sky and white snow is wild.

  • Nice catches Eric

  • Outstanding videography!!! The sites and sounds make you feel that you are actually standing at each location as the train goes by . . . you can't get any better than that

  • Awesome video man!

  • 06:58 sanders are on.

  • @TheZeke1974 actually I think it was the snow being pushed off the rail.

  • I'm looking to get a camera and you vids are really clear. Mind if I ask what you are using?

  • Nice! Best train vids on youtube!

  • That leading Yellow unit appears to be Ex. Union Pacific and Ex. Chicago and Northwestern.

  • @PereMarquette1223 Indeed it was an ex-UP. Caught it quite a few times in Buffalo. I'm not sure if it was an ex-CNW though

  • @Sabres21Buffalo UP probably painted it over like they always have, I believe CNW was the only railroad with gong bells on the nose of their locos.

  • @NampaSubdivisionAJV

It is indeed ex-CNW 6917, the nose bell is a dead give-away.

  • @NampaSubdivisionAJV The DT&I also used them on their locomotives. Illinois Terminal (ITC) used them on their SD39s, though they were mounted above the steps on the engineer's side, not on the nose.

  • @Sabres21Buffalo If you look when u have a chance at the top of the middle of the nose on the loco, you can see where a mechanical bell was mounted. C&NW did that to all or most of their SD-40's.

  • @PereMarquette1223 Ah ok thanks for the info

  • Amazing!

  • Love your videos dude!

  • Dude this is epic! The B&P has a nice piece of railroad.
