Okay, so Obama is appealing to the inner city kids who see basketball as their life. So, he hopes to get their votes. Fine. But once he is in office, he dammed well better be telling those kids every single day that they need to stay in school and get a college degree! Perhaps one of the worst things professional sports does is draft kids straight out of high school. They should have a policy to only draft college grads. That will change things! Obama, encourage education!!!

disb: I'm not mad at the success of black athletes...I'm mad because so many black kids put 100% of their effort into sports, when there are so few professional sports jobs available. A few like Lebron hit the jackpot, and the rest wind up with nothing.
What's needed is black kids putting 100% effort into their studies; more black lawyers, doctors, CEOs.
Why do black kids focus on sports and ignore the classroom? Because motherfuckers like you send them all the wrong signals.

it's because when the blacks were still slaves to whites, the whites kill of the physically weak slaves (cause no one wanted a weak slave, i guess) and then 'bred' the strong slaves with one another, that explains why blacks dominate almost all sports (except hockey). and that is true. moreover, they killed those who know how to read. which is just inhuman. very inhuman.

rodd: careful there. Jimmy the Greek got fired for saying exactly what you just said; that during slave days blacks were bred (like chickens I guess) for size and strength.
I don't think there was any systematic plan during slave days. I think the reason blacks excel at sports (and music) is because during Jim Crow those were the only areas open to them, they had plenty of role models, and young kids gravitated toward it for those reasons.

rod: Well, I'll agree with that. "Truth" was the last thing anybody was concerned about. Jimmy was one of the first victims (back in the 70s) of Political Correctness. He was fired because he said something blacks found offensive...not because he told an untruth. For many yrs now, PC has suppressed speech by not allowing anything negative to be said about blacks, even if it's well intentioned (constructive cricicism). I'm surprised BO would want this vid released. I mean, it sort of plays into the negative stereotype of black men...the whole basketball thing.
I'll know when we've tamped down racism and provided equality of opportunity when only about 12% of the NBA players are black. That'll mean millions of black boys are NOT wasting their time bouncing a fucking orange ball around...they'll have been studying to be doctors/lawyers, etc.
