This is great footage. How did you come by getting it? Is the whole show availabl? I saw EC at Budokan in Dec 2006, when he did this as well (but he also had Derek Trucks on guitar). Thanks for posting!
Aside from the drummer, theres nothing really new there. Gotta love seeing Willie Weeks back on bass for Clapton, I'm hoping he'll be playing with him for the set of shows with Jeff Beck, as I've got tickets to the Toronto show. With that said though, I'm not a huge fan of this drummer, hopefully Steve Gadd, or Steve Jordan will step in, heck even Ian Thomas.
On a different note, Doyle had one hell of a solo here.
For a second, i thought EC almost lost where he was in that last solo....but either i misinterpreted, or he made it work flawlessly. Probably the former....
I never saw Doyle being a fan of Flying V's. I saw him using a variety of guitars (Strats, Teles, SGs, Les Paul Standards and double-cutaway Juniors). Unless he decide the next time to began using Explorers and Modernes!
Old Slowhand's Sonic Blue axe is stunning, altough she looks a bit murky like a pale shade of parchment in this greyscale shot...
Clapton's main guitar is not Sonic Blue. It's a Daphne Blue and was probably inspired by a similar guitar built for him by luthier Roger Griffin circa 1984-1985.
Yet I saw Eric using the Griffin Strat during his "Behind the Sun" tour with Blackie, Brownie, a Roland G-505 guitar synth and a lot of other guitars.
damn good band

The version at " CROSSROADS " had more punch . This version seems drawn out and tiring . It's like their board with the same old set list .
