Thank you for mentioning the protein issue. When I first started doing my own hair, I avoided protein because I'd heard that it makes your hair hard and that natural hair doesn't really need protein. All I ended up with was mushy hair. My hair started doing much better after I incorporated protein in my routine.
Also, people with hard water need chelating shampoos, not simply clarifying shampoos. Clarifying shampoos remove product build-up. Chelating poos remove mineral deposits from hair.
My hair loves protein too. I do a light protein treatment every week but I just use 3 eggs and olive oil and I'm good for another week. I've been natural all my life and when my heair starts to seem like it's breakingI just reach into the fridge lol.
Nice vid, a tip for deep condish is to add peppermint oil to get your scap tingly. It stimuates blood flow and therefor growth. be sure not to use peppermint essential oil on its own- it can cause hair loss becaus it is strong.x
I just purchased a small jar of MSM Cream by source of naturals its advertised as a moisture cream for skin but i just put it in my hair and it worked purchased from health food store please try ladies i find that the so called black hair care products dont really work to hold moisture unless its made by a black business person who sales all natural hair care.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS! i recently did a big chop and I expected my curls to pop like they did with my relaxed ends on it. no one told me that once I lost the weight of the relaxed ends, my curls wouldnt stretch or define. Also, i begin to believe the lie one stylist told me and that was natural hair wasnt for me. what I mean to say it that my hair is VERY dry and course all of a sudden (now that the relaxed ends are gone). its challenging...
@LadanAir try MSM CREAM by SOURCE NATURALS you can get it from a health food store or google it IS SOLD AS A MOISTURE CREAM FOR THE SKIN BUT I USE IT IN MY HAIR AND SCALP AND I HAD VERY DRY COURSE HAIR BUT NOT ANYMORE AND THE SULFUR FROM THE MSM IS GOOD FOR YOUR HAIR
BTW great intro...quick suggestion..check out some of kimmaytube's videos about PH balance and the effects of baking soda on your strands just to ensure that you're equipped with a fair amount of information about baking soda before you put it on your strands...take care
I have used baking soda on my strands before and it actually felt like it was burning my scalp and after watching her video and learning a bit more about PH I realized why!
@jelisad21 I too love kimmaytube! When I use baking soda, it's really diluted & I don't rub it in to my scalp or anything like that. I just pour the mixture over my hair & sort of move my hands in a downwards direction to keep the cuticles smooth.
@lexcrab Thanks, as I told spice below, that didn't work for me when I tried it the first time. I tried it again, & it went much better. Thanks for the suggestion.
@spice1616 So, basically, that conditioner seems to be just a regular conditioner or it probably compliments the clarifying shampoo in the same line. & I made video because I was NOT dealing with dry hair any longer. If I still had dry hair, I wouldn't be trying to give suggestions to other people on what to do. You have to get yourself together before you can try & give advice to other people. Baking soda may strip but, I never read that. Thanks for watching & thanks for leaving a comment :
@spice1616 Yes, I did think about constant cowashing being a problem. So, tired just cowashing once a week & spraying my hair with a leave in to wake it up in the morning & moisturize it. & it was drier than if I were to cowash daily. The clarifying conditioner has no cleansing ingredients in it. I read about people on LHCF using it as a clarifier. & when I looked at the ingredients, I'm like where are the cleansing ingredients?!
Thanks for the tips, this was really helpful =)

lanolin is actually good for your hair. It mimics the sebum your scalp natural makes and it is a natural ingredient.
