@jhibbitt1 well it is based on the events before episode 4 and could basically pick the one before the original design and remember it gets destroyed and is soon given the identical lightsaber from episode 4 in episodes 2 and 3 srry i cant rlly explain it in words but hope it helps

isn't it so that in part IV he isn't a master but still a student. when he takes up the teaching of annikin then he becomes a jedi master. it could be that while training jedi's have one weapon and when they become a master they get another one.
And if you look at the films at some point there are yoda is teaching children. they have small sabers as you can't give a child a full grown version as the balance of the weapon would change when they grow.
when he gets captured they take his light saber from him and he doesnt get it back, when the battle starts they give him an other1 but it gets distroyed during the fight with dooku so in the third movie he gets the light saber he has in the fourth movie
in the second movie obi-wan looses his light saber and in the third movie u can see that he has the same light saber as in the fourth movie, he did loose it so he got a new 1

Nice that he got to choose which hilt he got. But for Episode III, because it's right before "New Hope", he HAD to choose the same hilt that Alec Guinness used.
The only person who got to choose their lightsaber blade color was Samuel Jackson. Their fight coordinator also had a role as one of the Jedi Darth Vader kills & asked to have a yellow lightsaber blade, but Lucas refused him so he got a blue one. Jedi were either blue or green.

the best clip of ewan that i saw was more like a documentary series 'Long Way Round' and 'Long Way Down'. in there u'll get enough of him, laughing, joking, and even see his a**. literally. haha

i think ewan was the first to choose.. cause qui-gon's lightsaber is the one on the right.... and next to hte one he chooses is kit fitso's.

Nice that he got to choose which hilt he got. But for Episode III, because it's right before "New Hope", he HAD to choose the same hilt that Alec Guinness used.

The only person who got to choose their lightsaber blade color was Samuel Jackson. Their fight coordinator also had a role as one of the Jedi Darth Vader kills & asked to have a yellow lightsaber blade, but Lucas refused him so he got a blue one. Jedi were either blue or green.
