  • i wish it was a longer song

  • I heard this on the radio today and loved it! :)

  • i am 2 years old and i love Kansas. sorry for what my generation has done to music.

    PS: goo goo ga ga

  • @FrostMan92 Im 78 years old and im sorry for what your generation did to music.....just kidding, but you know what im getting at here dont you??? lol

  • thanks... old times!!!

  • i liked it until that gd commercial with the guy in the car singing it like an idiot, it just wrecked it for me :< lol

  • You gotta be kidding me. He really doesn't know how to spell "no"??? Isn't that one of the first 3 words you learn when you're two years old? Are people really that stupid? Beyond unbelievable.

  • @davidg9035 O MY FUCKING GOD THE SONG IS REALLY SPELLED THAT WAY DUMBASS

  • @TheLeADTiger Yeah, I got it, Shithead. So what that Kansas doesn't know how to spell?

  • @davidg9035 Hahahaha are you really that stupid?! Google before ranting about something and becoming a total idiot

  • @davidg9035 Are you serious? The song is spelt that way. Do a google search BEFORE you troll. Stupid.

  • @baseballox123 You're an idiot. At least I know how to spell. So what that Kansas decided to do a play on words? You, on the other hand are an uneducated dork. Really? "Spelt"? The word is "spelled", Caveman.

  • @MrHeitz17

Neither, I never bothered to read my album that closely.

Thanks for pointing it out though.

  • This song is completely wonderful.

I lol'd at the typo in your title though. xD

  • @SuperZac8 Not sure if trolling, or just stupid...

    It's not a typo.

  • Awesome band...seen em in '77 at Charlotte Colosium...This is one of my alltime favorite bands! Carry On!

  • This song has always warmed the livin shit outta my soul!!!!!!!

  • A few months ago, I found my dad's old record player and a box of his vinyl albums in a back room. I pulled this one out, and from the moment the needle his the record, my mind was blown.

  • We just knew this album cover was final proof; the world really IS flat!

  • watched Pirates Of The Carribean worlds end with this

  • Great song

  • Just saw them yesterday in South Florida. First time ive ever heard them, living as a teenager in a terrible music world these days, it was good to hear good music.

  • Thumbs up if the beginning sounds like the beginning of California Screamin'!

  • Once upon a time I bought this album brand new off the shelf at Velva Darnell Records in Radcliff Ky. I misplaced it decades ago.I'm a crusty old fart,Are'nt I?

  • fuck the commercial

  • When I searched Point of no return on youtube I didn't get one search result for this song by Kansas....:( that's a problem

  • @gcaeaglefan Misspelled

  • how long?

  • One of my top five favorite Prog Rock Bands!

  • Guys, there is only one like...in the words of Eric Cartman "Seriously guys, the fuck?!"

  • i wander what kansas thinks of everyone going to their song because of the state farm commercial? they prolly like it cus it gets more fans i bet.

  • one thing wrong with youtube, it has a dislike button!!!!

  • is the know meant to be spelt like that?

  • i was that guy, sitting in his car, rocking out to this song.

  • Kansas(the state) is DEFINITELY the point of no return.

  • @paganknight ????????

  • The reason I ask is because it just seems like music from the 60s and 70s is, overall, better than music from the 90s and 00s. That is just my opinion, but I am hoping to change that depending on the bands I discover. Even then, this may prove to be futile as it appears obvious to me that bands from the 60s and 70s, even some 80s ones, are better than many bands today. "Better" as far as, well, musicianship really. Not only that, but there was feeling behind much of that music too. So...

  • @j4unumber1 Not really. This was the mass-produced schlock of its time...

  • @j4unumber1 amen! I agree whole heartedly!

  • Comment removed

  • Recorded at Kansas' peak. And boy, does it ever show!

  • at least this generation hear it through state farm

  • I used to play this song really really loud. Now that I'm 54 my ears can't take it that loud anymore. Great Great Song.

  • Thumbs up if you think Barbossa is steering that ship!

  • DAMMIT!!!

    Wrong State Farm song...

  • Terrific song.

  • Song is cool but should that know be no?

  • @jpeddy8491 actually, he used "know" the correct way.

  • Best rock voices #1 Steve Walsh #2 Lou Gramm #3 Paul Rodgers #4 Steve Perry #5 Burton Cummings #6 Rodger Daultry #7 Robert Plant #8 Brad Delp #9 David Lee Roth #10 Mark Farner.

  • @47tooter No Freddie Mercury?!?!?!

  • I saw them live tonight and they were fucking incredible!

  • Remember the commercial from last year ??

  • Wow.....that ship driver is clearly blind!!!!! XD

  • I think one of our children was conceived to this song.

  • very refreshing, and adventurous makes me wanna go sailing?! -rachael 16.

  • im only twelve and i think their awesome, my sister who is older than me thinks they are bad, but she is a retard if you ask me

  • @maxzilla514 cool story bro...

  • This is a great song, which kind of reminds me of a band I've heard a few days ago, Aperco. Hear the similarity at their channel apercoband

  • some of your comments r like herpes is better if everyone has it?

  • 2+ haters should leave and never return

  • @ThePotus2032 They should find the point of no return... that didn't really work cause it's 'know' not 'no'... I'll just shut up now...

  • the funny thing is that years later once I learned English and I read the lyrics the meaning of the song was no surprise to me. I knew it all along since the first time I listened to the song is as if the music is a redundant universal language that crosses all linguistic barriers.

  • I heard this song in Mexico while growing up. there were a couple radio stations that broadcast rock all day every day for their select audience they have classic rock hour where they feature a LP from a band discuss the influences and bio facts of the band, aspects or philosophy of its members then play one whole side no interruptions or commercials. you will have the cassette recorder ready and loaded to get it on tape! ahhh that was the beginning of music downloading no itunes yet..

  • it makes me fucking shiver

  • If you're only here cause of the Asian man from the All State commercial, buzz off. This place is for the real fans and is not her for you to poke fun at.

  • @faithlessbelievers its a state farm commercial dumb ass

  • @TheBoogyMan88 I differ. I am not a dumb ass at all. I am a human being with an IQ of 125.

  • Discovered this song when my dad played it in the car. I never knew the name of this song, I had heard on the radio before, just never knew who sang it or what it was called.

  • When 5 people are arrested for dancing at the Jefferson Memorial on 5/28/11 I think we may have reached the "Point Of No Return" in America.

  • Whole album (except the terribly overplayed Dust in the Wind) is absolutely superb.

  • 2 people returned.

  • exelente tema :)

  • 2 people were not listening But its not the point of know return!

The album cover is a great idea I am going to find my albums as well!

    These guys are so missed!

I thank them so much for carrying me to dust in the wind, and the point of no return and the wall hit me like a ton of bricks when I was around 13 and has stayed with me to this moment! That song was my music wake up call! Brilliant..Yes a gift from god! There lyrics were so ahead of the time The moment is a masterpiece! WOW!

  • Kansas - One of the most unique & original sounds in all of Rock Music. I remember hearing Kansas for the first time when I was a kid and thinking it was a gift from God!

  • 2 people returned. :p

  • I remember when the first time I heard this song, it was at a concert September 28th 1977

  • My first LP, just bought is a few days ago... Love it! This is real music, with a feelling! Instead of the techno carp of today...! Thank you Kansas!

  • One of my first albums ever. Still have a copy of this LP framed, hanging on a wall in the man cave. I also have two middle fingers for both of the dislikes on this one!

  • Your father, he said he needs you... Your mother, she said she loves you... Your brothers, they echo your words, how far to the point of know return? *rocks out*

  • 2 listeners of this song need to be punched in the face. lol

  • @halofreak22322 I agree but I am a bit of an optimist! So maybe they will come back and listen this time! Okay corny but they are not at the point of no return if they come back and listen, I don't get why they would come in the first place (maybe they are as drawn as we are)

Just a moment ago my son had his TV on and the Simpsons had dust in the wind on! That's so cool!

And I love that Carry on Wayward sun was a band song and my 18 year old got to play it!

Kudos to band teacher for that!

  • Awesome album art. Reminds me of a scene from pirates of the caribbean: at world's end. They probably used this wonderful picture of the point of know return for inspiration.

  • Gave that boost in the middle of this empty, lonley winter. I want adventure! i want out of highschool! I will travel

  • 2 people have been to the Point Of Know Return.

  • @mom2jlg who?

  • @tp4ever1950s it's just a dislike comment.

  • love that violin

  • @FunkKlock me too its interesting, and great ambitous

  • i wish i knew that guy in the commercial

  • Love the song and love the artwork on this album cover.

  • people who say" Kids who like mom and dad music" are dumb...why can't young people like good music, are they guilty not to have been born just in time to enjoy real time that great era music. it's true, nowadays good music it's just from a few people.so eerybody can have their own opinions, in music the age doesn't matter, music brings together people, peace!

  • @gutyka im in highschool and i like boston, and the steve miller band.good music

  • @maskeetsk8er11 Yeah, Steve Miller Band is one of the best, but nobody really knows about them.

  • @Sk8erdude6211 and we appreciate it. Thanks from all us old farts for taking the time to listen.

  • @GuzNation 1 year ago wow :)

  • =KANSAS MASTERPIECE=

  • Well the lyrics point the song in a different direction for those like me who found if from the commercial.I found it funny...until i looked up the lyrics and its darker in meaning....

  • I love this song, and if somebody herad it on a stupid comercial I dont care...

  • @Zeppelinscrap Agreed. I hope Kansas is laughing all the way to the bank.

  • everyone who was to young then but loves this song now you we all have great taste yummy

  • Comment removed

  • it's cooooooooooooooooooooooll.... xD xD xD

  • heard this in that state farm commercial ..didnt know it was kansas..

  • Ya that commercial was kind of random...took me a month to find out the song.....but awesome

  • id rather be a hick that a worthless urbanite who couldnt find their own ass without some apple product

  • rofl don't kid yourself. all the important people in this world, like the ones that allow you to keep your hick way of life, are urbanites. basically everyone that matters is in a city

  • im not a hillbilly dumbass, i just dont think im more important than anyone else, people in the world trade center thought they were important on 9/11 , all the important people on the subways in europe felt pretty good too. fuck off

  • uh actually the wtc people proved they were "more important" on 9/11. i mean terrorists literally evaluated human life in america and decided, correctly i might add, that attacking these more "valuable" people would hurt america most effectively. i mean i don't have their plans or anything but i think the odds in my favor that buttcrack, kansas wasn't on their hit list. i mean i don't think i'm "better" than anyone either, but let's not be crazy; urban america is more crucial to our success

  • my point is your important only from your prospective, arrogant people think kicking indigenous people off there lands exploiting the resources giving them a shave and a haircut is whats best for everyone. every city is two days from chaos if there water and food isnt shipped daily, you shouldnt be so confident.

  • you spelled THEIR wrong

  • lol and perspective.

  • so then you have no point. there is a correct perspective not "yours" or "mine." i dunno what ur talking about with this "shave and a haircut" speech but fact of the matter is capitalism is a system set up on the most important people in society generally make the most money and two live in urban areas. this includes the scientists that have come up with ways to engineer the products that cause farmer's crops to grow efficient enough to sustain as many as possible. without these urban people,

  • the farmers or whatever shipping their foods daily wouldn't even matter because without these scientists they couldn't even create enough food for everyone so basically it always boils down to these urban people. what, u think these agrarian farmers are gonna figure out how to feed everyone with limited food production potential? i think not.

  • @ylt34c

    scientists dont make food....

    lols...

nor do they geneticly engineer the perfect hamburger...

  • A random night at 3:30 am... and this is one of the most asinine, misguided, idiotic posts I have ever read online. I'm almost impressed...

  • ouch

    *sarcasm*

  • isaiahman1234567, It's part of letting go of the old things.

I grew up reading the liner notes on my parents' old vinyls, memorizing the words and the faces; now I have to let go of some of the pride that came with knowing something great which was unknown to most other people.

I am glad that they are now getting some recognition, despite that the guys are older now. I know there is still so much that a newcomer can be shown, and always much more to be found!

  • seriously it doesnt matter if u heard them on a video game or a commercial if you liek them you like them who cares

  • I found the song off of the album cover on my wall. no state farm here

  • *singing like dude from the STATE FARM COMMERCIAL*

  • *Plays air organ*

  • isiah whats ur malfunction?

  • cold hot pockets.

  • thanks god they exist ! the only american prog band that i appreaciate

  • @mobyboy - uh dude - The band "Kansas" came out of Canada - Eh. Look it up.

  • According to everything I have read they came from, of all places, Kansas. Topeka to be exact.

  • What are you saying about people from Kansas? We're not hicks out here, and before you say "I didn't say that" it is implied when you said 'of all places'.

  • Comment removed

  • Really? He didn't say that at all, when he said "according to everything I have read they came from, of all places, Kansas." he isn't saying anything about people from Kansas, who might notice the Band is names....of all names Kansas, and they are, from all places, Kansas....irony my, irony.
