I don't actually believe hellfire doctrine. He gave us some basic rules in our best interests, we were deceived into focusing on the little we didn't have instead of all we do have (sound familiar?), it is all still available, but surrender is the key. I am just sharing the things that I didn't agree with as a christian. I believe it is valuable to share ideas and talk about them. I also think its important to critize all ideas, including religious ones.

This scripture is not for someone who rededicates there lives ,obviously. It speaks of people who acted Christian played the role and then left to preach false doctrine, make a mockery of Jesus. Not someone who has fallen and then wants to rededicate. An anti-christ is someone who is against God. Do you not speak against God? And remember those are not my words It is GOD'S WORD. I'm just relaying the message.

The passage is referring to the Gnostics who thought that Jesus was a spiritual being and not a physical one. According to Paulist they are false prophets and antichrist.

I got saved while in sunday school, not in a mega church so I experienced no pressure. Altar Call was a video made because I was disturbed at what I saw when I started going to adult services and not what I went through personally.

No, How can you take a gift back if it was not received in the first place. Most people who say they are Ex-Christians just went through the motions. They never truly received Jesus. He is the Incorruptible Seed. Once the Seed is planted it takes root.

No. I confessed with my mouth, the Lord Jesus, and believed in my heart that God raised Jesus from the dead. You may not think I let him in my heart but I came to God with child like faith. Literally. I was saved at ten so of course I believed.

You were 10 years old but Christ isn't talking about age He's talking about our heart. Just like a person who's old in years doesn't make them wise. He wants us to have a childlike character because children are teachable and receptive. Remember there are many people who go around saying they love God but do not show the fruit. What fruit did you show? And who uprooted your tree? God word says, He will never leave nor forsake you.

It is despicable the way you heap religion upon children, children who don't have enough knowledge and wisdom to make logical judgement. Children who naively believe their parents are infallible before the realities of life settle in. You abuse their lack of knowledge to FORCE your supertitions in before they grow intelligent enough to realize why they're bull.

it's strange. a perfect being feels the need to create a whole universe. he creates one planet with life. (no evidence of other life in the bible. must not exist, hehe.) he creates an intelligent species to worship him forever. he gives them an arbitrary list of rules to follow, most of which go against their nature, and tortures them forever for disobeying. does this make sense to anyone at all?

Don't think of them as rules. They are commands, but commands made out of love. When we follow them, we are blessed beyond belief. Kinda like, if you tell your child "don't cross the road without making sure there are no cars coming". It is in their best interests. Sow and reap, seed and harvest. These are laws of God's. You just gotta watch what are you watering.

loving? god created hell, made humanity as they are, then made rules against their nature. if they break the rules, they're given eternal suffering for it? do you believe this is just and loving?

I don't actually believe hellfire doctrine. He gave us some basic rules in our best interests, we were deceived into focusing on the little we didn't have instead of all we do have (sound familiar?), it is all still available, but surrender is the key. If you want to jump up and down and question the stucture of God's kingdom, you are cutting of your nose to spite your face so to speak.

Well, there's 'hades' which is the grave, 'gehenna' which is an actual place at the time, and tartaros where some wayward angels were sent; all translated hell, but I don't see where the burn in hell forever comes into that.

How is it not in our best interests to enjoy sex? To fall in love with someone of the same gender? To use our logical minds to search for evidence of things? These are arbitrary rules that have no purpose at all. They are pointless. God's "laws" are not made out of love, they are made out of petty, pointless, spite.

I totally agree, god is like "I won't throw let you walk into that booby trap I made if you follow everything I say". Why would he make the fuckin booby trap in the first place? Why allow hell to exist? It is like a game for god. If the Christian god did exist he seems like he his bored and we are things to amuse him. And his source of entertainment is quite twisted and cruel.
