The information he leaked contained information dating from December 1966 to February 2010 that was 261,276,536 words long. It wasn't just those 2 embarrassing videos. He leaked some information that put lives in jeopardy. This is very serious and some of you people are just too stupid to get the full facts. Someone, please, answer in specific how Brad Manning is a threat. I really, really doubt that if he was that idealistic of a person to begin with, about people being hurt and everything, he would want harm to come to anyone because of what he leaked. I really, really doubt he would want anyone to be harmed. Yes, we know he broke the law. But honestly, I don't think he did anything *wrong*. Just because someone breaks the law doesn't mean they even belong in prison, of any kind.

Nice video work, technically, but we don't really know that he leaked the documents do we? That's what a trial is supposed to determine. It is impossible to refer to him as a hero or a villain until he confesses or is found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt after thorough examination of the evidence. Sadly, he will not receive a fair trial because the President has already stated he broke the law and the jurors (all will be military officers) are under his command.

I completely support Bradley. However stating what others have also said. If this information HAD Killed someone, I would hold him responsible for terrorism. If anyone had DIED we would have been told ONE THOUSAND TIMES because it would serve the agenda. NO ONE has died. @banva14 you are the type of person who would show up at an old fashioned hanging just because you like to see a human jerk to death. We don't torture our citizens period. Manning didn't kill ANYONE - the military has nasty little secretes and he exposed them. One doesn't DIE for that or remain with no justice for a year OR shouldn't. It's supposed to be a LAW - speedy trial.

Do you honestly think that someone should be convicted of treason and put to death for an act which has resulted in no deaths?

@ecapeify But that's just it, you haven't cited a source other than to say 'an op-ed piece for some 3rd rate paper said...' That is hardly anything that could even be construde as empirical data. It's an opinion and you're trying to pass it off as fact. What about the thousands who have died in Libya or Tunisia or Syria? Don't they count? My source? Look at what wikileaks has posted about U.S. countermeasures to IEDs and tell that isn't going to get someone killed, if it hasn't already.

@flockofgoat Not to mention the fact that prior to the release of this information, in 2007, IEDs were already the cause of 66% of coalition casualties and that percentage had been rising throughout the years of the Iraq war.

@ecapeify Wrong. IED attacks have been on the decline in Iraq according to a CSIS study. Yes they are on the rise in Afghanistan but that is because coalition forces are moving into the enemies territory. Only now, thanks to this blue falcon buddy fucker, they do it without the countermeasures that took us 8 years to develope. So yeah, simple math someone is going to die. You can tell the editor of the Guardian suck my balls. Fuck Brad Manning.

Those reuters reporters killed in the now expossed Bahgdad airstrike would be alive today if the the video of the previous airstrike had been leaked. Many children and civilians also would not have been injured
