Be that as it may, the fact that he had to get someones help to defeat her proves he was out of her league. And the fact that he was able to get past her hierro doesn't prove that they're strength was close at all. In the second fight it shows that even with his long time of improvement he was getting his ass handed to him by Nel. No matter which way you dice it, he's just not strong enough to take her on and come close to winning.

Where was his Heeiro when nel slashed him at the beginning with all that blood? I honestly wouldn't dwell too much on the fact that there was no blood effect when she threw her lance. She stated that she wasn't intending to kill him and I don't think you can make such a judgement on her mobility and offensive. considering that she was faster than him in the whole fight and she has more strength in her sword swing than he does.
