I love how it starts out on a positive note, making it sound like he and his love will meet someday. But then when he says "I know it's gonna happen someday TO YOU" it really changes the story. He knows that the one for him exists, but the chances of finding them is almost impossible. Therefore, they'll find someone else while he drifts into obscurity. At least that's how I understand it. Oh, Morrissey...
Your Arsenal is one of my most-beloved albums of all-time. It stirs so many memories of my teenage years. - This song in particular, along with 'Seasick, Yet Still Docked' literally carried me through one of the deepest depressions of my life. - For that, I will forever be grateful. ♥❤♥
@lyonslaforet This track is actually a remake of 'Rock N' Roll Suicide'. Mick Ronson produced this song and record, and Bowie later on covered Morrissey's version of his song.
there is a comment, that this is optimism, is not miserable like asleep, to me this makes me cry so much more, hope then nothing, repeated, just left with hope, that things will be ok hurts more. hope. alot has been weitten on the subject. there is such melancholy in it. a morning light pastel sadness, sadder than the darkest night,
Moz at probably his most hopeful. Kind of the opposite of "Asleep", which is really the only time he was the miserabilist he was accused of being. Whenever one listens to "Asleep", they should play this song immediately after.
you never fail to make me cry, Moz.

Has anyone else noticed that the end is very reminiscent of Rock N'Roll Suicide by David Bowie?
