  • I don't know how I'm gonna get there. But I'm gonna get there.

  • @chiquezoz Admissions and Financial Aid will give you all the help they can. Winter semester orientation for new students starts Jan. 11 -- hope to see you then.

  • The more I watch about MUM the more I feel link joining :)

  • i want to go to this school!!!

  • @truelovewaits23 You might want to check out another video on our channel: A Day in our Lives. Two of our students taped a typical day, so this video gives a picture of what it's like to be a student at MUM.

  • just stopping by...

  • cool video. sounds like a life changing school. im at stanford right now and totally beside myself at the level of stress and anxiety around me. im interested in transferring and i also play soccer... im curious, what is the athletic situation at MUM? Do you guys compete intercollegiately? and if so what schools do you play?

  • @bigpj09 A lot of our students are transfer students, for just the reason you said: most colleges seem to think that stress and anxiety are the way to learn. Here we try to make sure that you're challenged without being overly stressed.

Most of our athletics are pretty informal, but we do have a competing soccer team, which has students from all over the world on it. In fact, I just interviewed a former professional soccer player from Spain – you'll be seeing that on our channel soon.

  • are there any truth in these allegations? "HARMFUL EFFECTS: Studies have found TM results in tiredness, anxiety,

depression, regression, suicidal tendencies, headaches, sleeping

difficulties, neck pain and involuntary twitching for many. The

German government studies found that the teachers of TM were not

qualified to deal with the problems associated with its practice.

  • @bladdan There are 67 studies that show negative effects of TM; all but 4 of them are individual case studies. For those individuals, were they already unstable? Did they follow their TM teacher's instructions?

Taken as a whole – for example, in Eppley's meta-analysis of 147 TM studies – overall the results are positive. (Eppley is from Stanford, not associated with TM in any way.)

TM teachers aren't psychiatrists, but they are trained to recommend when a person may need professional help.

  • @MaharishiUniversity i have ADD, can tm help me to get my life back, i just cant concentrate

  • @bladdan Check out our video "ADHD: Meditation, not medication."

  • I just want to say that I'm totally impressed...like ridiculously impressed. I didn't know that a formal university like this existed. How long has your university been in existence, who are your "competitors/allies". Are you alone in your philosophy of education?

  • @juanmora19910209 It's a pretty amazing place. We've been here in Fairfield since about 1974. Some K-12 schools incorporate Consciousness-Based education, but I think that MUM is the only university with this approach.

The best way to find out that this place is real and whether it's for you is to come to a Visitors Weekend – there are lots of presentations and you can talk to lots of students and faculty. (If you have financial need, you can get a Travel Scholarship up to $350.)

  • I have been doing TM as long as Paul McCartney and Clint Eastwood

    it makes my day

  • THIS IS GREAT!!!

  • This sounds nice but I'm a bit skeptical.

  • @Wingedmagician It's for real. Come on a Visitors Weekend and find out what it's really like – we welcome skeptics. You can talk to students and profs and sit in on a class or two.
