I hate to say this, but germany had a very high chance of winning the war. The factors that resulted in germany losing the war

(thank god) included: 1.Japan attacking the US, which brought in the Americans and their allies to war 2, Hitler taking personal control of all military forces (after he became paranoid from the number of assassination attempts on his life) and 3. The invasion of the Soviet Union which sent russia to war.

All in all, germany lost the war because of hitler himself.

Czechoslovakia: At the Munich Conference on September 28-29, 1938, the French and the British handed Germany a large portion of Czechoslovakia. What I'm trying to say is if we'd been knocked out of the war (Thus allowing Hitler to concentrate all his men and matierals on Russia) they would have won... Britain not been in the War would have been a nightmare situation. Hitler would have the middle east oil fields and beable to take the Persian ones... (Which is what the germans were mainly short of in the latter years)

@CptBritish Hitlers big gamble was to take the lucrative oil fields of Russia in Barbarossa, not the oil fields in the Middle East, he had no merchant marine to transport that oil. Whatever oil Hitler would get, would have to come over land, not the sea, the RN controlled the waters going into Germany.

You're speculating on the situation without the U.K. in the war. Hitler still wasn't prepared to fight a winter war in Russia, regardless, history has taught us that.

@CptBritish The U.S. just didn't sit back and play dead, we produced the A-bomb before Germany ever could (Germany never got past R&D).

And as far as a base of operations, don't forget, Stalin was at war with Hitler also, and no doubt he would've given us access to Germany with the long range B-29.

In 1942, we sailed an amphibious assault from U.S. ports, right into No. Africa. Didn't need the U.K. for that.

We find ways, we're pretty good at those things.
