This app uses the fm transmitter to bounce signals off metal objects, it then detects the reaction the signals have on the compass.
So if your phone has an FM transmitter (not an FM radio reciever) and a compass, then this app should work

apperently you need a n97 to do this as it has a magnetometer insde. most other nokia phones including the 5800, 5230 and 5530 dont have this

but when I do that it stays calibrated for like literally a min and then just resets

I have also similar problem, sometimes detector resets after reaching full bars when metal object is near, very annoying.
@radiocool i do that for 5 mins and it still dont go up
