0:16 An Exercise that i have seen referred to as '' the spider'' it is excellent for sweep and alternate picking. I use it exclusively to practice sweep picking. I first saw it in Joe's ''Guitar Secrets'' book. Joe is right, it is horrible sounding.

That pick scraping melody he played was from "I Am Become Death". From "Time Machine". A great double CD of songs that didn't make it onto his albums plus live tracks. That song is one of the creepiest and strangest things Satch has ever done. It's haunting and otherworldly.
