As a recovering Heroin addict myself, I must say there is NO WAY you can stay off it and continue drinking. Also, u CANNOT say you have kicked drugs while in jail; your just in a holding pattern. You never get well from being an addict, but if you surrender to sobriety you will get better. I live every day with my addiction, and every day I decide to keep fighting. Life can be worth living, but it takes time 4 your brain and heart to heal.
I really really hope Brandon doesn't go back to his 'old ways'. I know what its like to lose someone from Heroin & believe me its not something you want to see, 7 years ago i watched my brother lay motionless on life support for 10 days before my mother had to turn of the life support, 7 years on & i can't get that picture out of my head, thankfully my other brother gave up drugs shortly after.

I identify so much w/Novak's story. I have struggled with heroin addiction for over 20 years, getting some clean time, relapsing, dissapointing so many people for so long. We're not bad people, we're sick people. People need a fucking clue. And if he also battles mental illness (which I do) it's even harder. Brandon Novak is the epitome of what drugs do to someone and how it ruins peoples' lives. He was kicked out high school, lost his skating career, and stolen from family and friends all for drugs. I think Brandon Novak has made mistakes and he is the one who has to pay the most for them but I believe that his sentence should be lenient because his life is a shinning example of why not to do drugs. He should be put on probation or sent to rehab.

Then he admitted on Radio Bam that he had used an inmates urine to pass a drug test. The news eventually got to the jail who arrested Novak again, and now hes sitting there. I heard he got really emotionally struck by Ryan Dunn's death. He weren't allowed to his funeral. It's so sad..:(

@DnsEniGma Allegedly, December of this year. He was initially supposed to get out in February, but he had admitted on the radio that he had to use a cellmates urine to pass a test. The people at the prison heard about it and a judge sentenced him to an additional 10 months. That's the last I know.

I saw the video version of dream seller and it really helped me because my mom is an alcoholic and we are trying to get her help. Also I was kind of suicidal I saw this and realized I was being an idiot. Thank you for helping me. Also, Brandon really is a good guy inside. Just from a couple years knowing "of Novak" (through Radio Bam, reading Dreamseller, TV shows etc.), he's not a violent person (in fact he usually the victim!), I don't see why he should have a heavy sentencing. Even if there was no price, I'd give him a friendly smile and a handshake; not a day goes by that I look at Novak's "misery optional..." painting to gain or regain some inspiration simply because its hilarious. I'm only halfway through the first Dreamseller book, but I can already say that Novak is such an inspiration to me. my complete sympathies for novak. he is sick and going to jail will not help him. a inpatient stay at a rehab center where he can receive some psychological help as well. not saying that he would necessarily get clean right away after that but i'm sure it would be of some benefit for him and a step in the right direction

Brandon's story has helped me a lot and made me think in a different way.
For years in High School and after I was stealing from friends&family, I was lying to the people I loved to hide my guilt Even though the after feeling made me feel horrible and sick, what I bought with the money made me feel all better which is why I kept on doing it. @DnsEniGma Allegedly, December of this year. He was initially supposed to get out in February, but he had admitted on the radio that he had to use a cellmates urine to pass a test. The people at the prison heard about it and a judge sentenced him to an additional 10 months. That's the last I know.

I saw the video version of dream seller and it really helped me because my mom is an alcoholic and we are trying to get her help. Also I was kind of suicidal I saw this and realized I was being an idiot. Thank you for helping me. Also, Brandon really is a good guy inside. I hope Novack is ok. I wish only the best of luck to him. I bought and read his book and I am a supporter of Brandon Novack. His story gave me some insight on what my Dad was going through when he was dealing with heroin addiction. Being in jail with not help his drug addiction. I really hope he comes out with another book. His first book was excellent. I think he is so cute.

I'm only halfway through the first Dreamseller book, but I can already say that Novak is such an inspiration to me. Yeah, maybe he made some unfortunate choices that are now making it really hard to keep his life on track, but he is SO strong for doing as well as he has and I wish him all the luck in the world in the future.

But seeing the struggle Brandon Novak has gone through, seeing how difficult it is to get off something he clearly hates so desperatly, I'm starting to understand why it has taken almost 22 years for my father to make a solid change. Brandon's story has helped me a lot and made me think in a different way.
For years in High School and after I was stealing from friends&family, I was lying to the people I loved to hide my guilt Even though the after feeling made me feel horrible and sick, what I bought with the money made me feel all better which is why I kept on doing it. I never did rehab or anything that major but after reading the book I really did realize that what I was doing can really hurt those I love. Thanks Brandon.
