  • Don't be a sheep to the government. After all were sheeple not people.

  • this song is about substance abuse. count bodies like sheep to the rhythm of the war drums is about conspiracy. even the beat and overall feel of the other song gives the lyrics a more militaristic feel. this song is on the 13th step album, an album dedicated to substance abuse, while the other was on emotive, an album solely about government conspiracy and anti war messages.

  • @carolicious613 ur an idiot. its about government control sung from the view of the government. put down the crack pipe

  • @shiftjeenyus whatever you say asshat. theyres 2 versions of the song for a reason.

  • i go back to sleep... xD

  • plain plain plain plain amazing piece of art.....that is what this song is.

  • this song is about drug addiction, written in the first person....the 'drug' is talking. you people that dense?

"Lay your head down child..." " Go back to sleep" the entire album is a concept about chemical dependency. Sheesh...

Jesus...'I'll be the one to protect you from - your enemies and your choices son..."

It has FUCK ALL to do with politics you ding dongs.

  • @melange420 swing to the rhythm of a new world order and................

a new world order means chemical dependency right.........

other songs are not even talking about chemical dependency, in the album they are talking about other situations on life not a chemical dependency.............suicide, stuff for me, NWO, read and learn the lyrics before you make yourself look like the ding dong.

  • @sarkim0517 Suicide? NWO? Really!? Each of these tunes, are written expressly as a concept considering substance abuse. Even the arrangements of the individual songs are part of the conceptual nature of this work. It bores me to no end when people like you insist on commenting about something that you have no fundamental grasp At least I will grant you have good taste in music, albeit unknowingly. And yes EVERY single piece on this record is intimately concerned with substance abuse

  • @melange420 "And yes EVERY single piece on this record is intimately concerned with substance abuse"

Just wondering if Maynard told you that himself? If not, why don't you leave it open to interpretation. It is ART and art is left to be interpreted by the viewer or in this case, the listener. Lyrics such as "swinging to the rhythm of a new world order" and "counting bodies like sheep to the rhythm of the war drums" could certainly be viewed as pertaining to war or government.

  • @melange420 dude. not going to lie, but almost all their stuff is about conspiracy. Not about substance abuse. The nurse who loved me is about substance abuse. this song, and a lot of others are about conspiracy.

  • Relay good video :D

  • its amazing : you give ppl some undefined text , and some pictures and they make a milion versions and meanings of the song :D im glad peaople still have imagination! there is still hope

  • hier is a subliminal message in 0:11 "unless one will commands..." :-D

  • dear you,

how do you live with yourself cutting out the best guitar build up of this song....i got so blue balled just then.

    sincerely,

    me

  • It's not about the Illuminati... Every song on the album is about drugs...

  • i like ur Jesus sandals :)

  • ...Swayin' to the rhythm of the New World Order...

  • Could come across as a crazy girlfriend.

  • WTF...reference to sheep, the NWO and the album is called 13th step (freemason).

  • @AustralianAllTheWay yes it could be thought of that way, but maynard called it the thirteenth step refering to the 12 step course you take for alcoholics anonymous and the 13th step is sobriety

  • Ok, so like how realistic is it that somebody would be flipping through the channels on their tv and there's nothing on but angry politicians and Hitler speeches? A little cliche don't ya think? Sorry Zitty McGee, but you and your preachy signs fail.

  • Srebrenica is missing on this video.

  • in my opinion this song is about him wanting to protect and guard his child from all the evils of the world. Maynards son even sings background vocals on this song.

  • @vcastillo1990 you're partly right, It's about the illuminati new world order, it even mentions it in the song.

  • @MrMartGonzo that's an interesting interpretation, but Maynard came out and said that it was a drug singing to its addictict

  • @vcastillo1990 its not him protecting his children. you are close tho, he is talking from the point of view of the government, for the government says to the public just relax we will protect you when in the end the government is the one controlling you and warping your mind

  • @vcastillo1990 btw look up the newer version off their emotive album which is all anti governmental. its called counting bodies like sheep on that one, anther good song is fiddle and the drum

  • Its the drums and vocals, Phil collins never reached tis point :) Paraditls rock dudes.. :)

  • So f... cool . I LOVE IT, blessings.. from Jan in Denmark

  • what's crazy is that the dude in the tyedye looks like Adam Jones a little

  • there's a problem at 3:43...

    just so you know...

  • Fuck Hitler!

  • this fuckin beat rocks, i like this song

  • @poetcstyle I'm sorry!! I didn't mean to mark you down! Stupid thing! I do it all the time...I'll have another window up and then i'll click on this one and I accidently click the thumb down button....FML....I'm trying to work on that...

  • no longer a government by conviction and the vote of the majority, but a government by the opinion and duress of a small group of dominant men.”

  • President Woodrow Wilson: 1916 “I am a most unhappy man. I have unwittingly ruined my country. A great industrial nation is controlled by its system of credit. Our system of credit is concentrated. The growth of the nation, therefore, and all our activities are in the hands of a few men. We have come to be one of the worst ruled, one of the most completely controlled and dominated governments in the civilized world. No longer a government by free opinion

  • @LordLarsaSolidor Wilson sold the USA out

I hope he is in the deepest, darkest pit of hell being boiled in excrement for eternity.

  • President Andrew Jackson: 1829-1837 “You are a den of vipers! I intend to rout you out, and by the Eternal God I will rout you out. If the people only understood the rank injustice of our money and banking system, there would be a revolution before morning.”

  • President Franklin Roosevelt: Nov. 21, 1933 “The real truth of the matter is, as you and I know, that a financial element in the larger centers has owned the government since the days of Andrew Jackson.”

  • Thomas Jefferson: 1816 “If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation and then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around them will deprive the people of all property until their children wake up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered.”

  • cool video, also this song is far superior to CBLS

  • Hmm drugs? Sounds political to me

  • Hitler is jammin out

  • _POWERFULL_

  • Yeah Maynard even says on the aMOTION DVD that Pet is a song that an addiction sings to an addict, and Counting Bodies Like Sheep To the Rhythm of the War Drums is not a remix so much as it is a sequel, then states further that Pet is about addiction and Counting Bodies was the political one of the two..

  • YOU SEE IT. I want to protest with you guys and I want to walk around in chains and my sign says The Banksters stole everything and on the otherside al CIAda is a lie. I'm awake to the rhythum of the wardrums, unsafe and, not ignorant.

  • Not a bad video, but I feel it didn't go well with the song. The thirteenth step is about addiction, not politics. One could imply it has double meanings, but still I feel the video didn't capture the intensity or rhythm of the song.

  • ill be back some day tho, dont worry. its not a threat, its a PROMISE. xD

  • @crazyheartsboy Not sure what you mean by sorry about all that before... and sorry but I'm not sure who you are??

  • oh and also, keith i know who u are too. ;)

  • i know who u are......nicole. sorry about all that before, it was just the medications. im all good now. and ur right, a perfect circle is really creative music. ;)

  • 0:02 lol!

  • Now is the information age. Take advantage. Study wise people like George Ohsawa and become wise. He did the hard work. Show God that you yourself can be wise. Lets put a stop to human suffering. Really it is simple. Set aside your ego. Crucify the ego. Know that it is possible to know. You may not know it all however you will know that it is possible to know.

  • i think this song is about drugs in my opinion.

  • i LOOOOOOOVE this video. it goes so well with the song.

  • god this song is so relaxing :)

  • Go back to your world of mindless entertainment, promiscousity and whatever else keeps you from taking action against theese facts: A child dies every 5 seconds. 1% of the world owns 40% of the world's resources. Isolate you in a materialistic prison, and get divorced so you don't have a family to stand up for! The oligarchial boogeymen of banking, energy, argiculture, industry and so on are profiting on your behaviour and ignorance, so please save you from yourself! Nvr mind, just go to sleep..

  • I actually never thought it was about genocide, I pictured Stockholm syndrome

  • I've listened to this song a lot and I never thought it was about addiction. I was under the strong immpression that it was about a parent, one either very full of hate (possibly racist) and/or ignorance passing down their own twisted beliefs to their child. It is a very cynical and some what ironic song as he writes it from the perspective of the parent. I knew a white supremecist that would actualy sing this song to his son; in perfect seriousness. He thought it was sweet -_-

  • i'd thumb up, but i'd ruin this: "666 likes, 89 dislikes" <3

  • 666 likes! lol

  • I like how at this moment in time there is 666 likes. heh.

  • This is how you make history...if you listen

  • The boogeyman huh?

  • Hell yes. One of the best, if not the best, songs on this album.

  • down with the new world order

  • okay this song is amazing in every way possible, but this video doesnt go along with the song meaning at all.

  • Ok, this is one GREAT song...

  • It's very nice to see that there are americans who aren't infected by their domestic propaganda. I think the same way as you.

    Btw...great choice of song.

    Greetings from germany ;)

  • nicely done.

  • This song made more sense when G W was in office ;)

  • @chrisburnam Obama is just as bad, if not worse. He works for the same men behind the curtains pulling the strings and he dances like a little marionette.

  • Nice job on the video, fantastic band and great song.....if I'm correct and you're the lady I saw at 2:20 then I must say you look quite nice :)

  • GERMANIC SUPREMACY, BABY.

That's all it's really about, beneath the surface.

  • This was first written (like all songs on the thirteenth step) about addiction. This one is about all the things hard drugs "protect you from", the good and the bad. I think it later went on as a remake that was meant to be about tyranical leaders with all the shit they promise, and what is most commonly the end result.

  • @jdizzle5234 no its not its about the new world order!!!!!

  • @jdizzle5234 This song is UNDOUBTEDLY about the NEW WORLD ORDER. Just look at the video, Hitler and such. The other songs may be about his drug addiction, however, this song is certainly about waking up to the truth of this world, or going back to sleep.

  • @jdizzle5234 Interesting. Due to the video (not this one) that introduced me to this song, it always reminds me of an over-protective parent, like the moms on CSI who hide their kids in the basement to "protect them". Also, listening to it reminds me of the relationship between Mordred and Morgan le Fey from the Camelot legends.

  • Good video. Needs a little less Hitler.

  • It's entertaining to watch people fight on the internet.:-P

  • @WarriorCatLover12 This is a original song by APC and they sorta tweeked it in the other song they made which is "Counting Bodies Like Sheep"

  • this sounds like 'counting the bodies like sheep'

  • Is dis the same as 'Counting the bodies like sheep' by a perfect circle?

  • @ExxonPirate shut the fuck up.. -____-

  • @DrivenBlack Maybe if you shut the up.. You wouldn't have jokes flying over your head, while you write stupid ass comments, that I can repeat like a parakeet (rhymes mo-fucker).

  • Nicely done video.

  • Very good, though the (visual)upspeed, make it seem like comedy. To me this song is very very serious !

Anyway, I am convinced you receive the message the same way asI do. Doing something ackward is better than doing nothing !!

    Love

    Love

  • gg

  • why hitler

    what about bush???

  • @ahriman87 same person

  • but it's not about government at all the entire album is about drug addictions, this one is about the addict telling the person inside himself to go back to sleep and continue his addiction.

  • @arkham2498 oh. I was pretty sure "The Noose" was anti-Bush and this song says "rhythm of the war drums"...guess I was wrong...but that's the beauty of these deep, meaningful songs - they can be interpreted in many ways.

  • @91nickt Ur thinking of tool, APC is different Thirteenth step album is all about drug addictions, in fact Maynard really has little to do with APC, pussifier is really all him, and He makes up a big portion of Tool.

  • at 3:21 it sounds like the guy said " the new world order".

  • @supersmashman9999 He does. "swinging to the rhythm of the New World Order"

  • I never get tired of this song!

  • this is awesome! you did a really great jod! and great choice of music!

  • just search the lyrics up

  • are the rest of you alive out there alive you never answered my question short and sweet space em out got it the "world" is so restrictive nowadays

  • are the rest of you alive out there you never answered my question

  • 77 retarded people

  • Great video, great song, the Hitler comparisons were thrown around the Bush regime and I like that your production turned that around. It seems to fit better that the axis of evil did and still does reside in our own actions.

  • Great Song and awesome job dude

  • You did a great job, I really like your video. It definately gets the point across.

  • @hitman6833

Actually that is not what this song is about. You are quite wrong. Maynard was quoted as saying that the entire album (Thirteenth Step) is about different views of addiction.

However the song speaks to you is your own personal opinion. It is not necessary to force feed those opinions to others just like Maynard James Keenan does not force his [opinions] on you.

  • Sweet shirt bro.

  • this was great ^.^ i loved it

  • wow, if ya'll would pay attention, Maynard is talking as though he is the anti-christ, it's genuis...a great fuckin song, not a bad video...lol, get rid if the tie dye!

  • @nightmarefairy80

Fuck you, tie dye is awesome.

  • You totally missed all the point of the lyrics, you Americans think it is always about violence, that one is about fear that all world is rotten and you Americans living in a shell, open your mind, hippies are long gone. The pictures of violence in every video will not help to change the world in to a better place.

  • @simonmezik And ignoring Darfur will? Most people don't knw about all the wars going in the world (most of them started or funded by the US or UN). If you want the world to change the knowledge of whats happening must be spread. And the Knowledge of who is behind the wars (the Bilderburg, Trilateral Commison, and the CFR to name a few) Look them up and then stroll on over to Alex Jones's channel and veiw some of his movies

  • awesome

  • you did awesome bro

  • @kco1106a I'm a lady, but thanks bro :) I appreciate you checking it out!

  • @SeeThruProductions ok bro jk jk

  • @SeeThruProductions

    Well then lady-bro , congrats.

  • this is an outweigh idea that you talking about "spacityhero" You must know that truth is completely the opposite (remove religion from the face of the earth °) and so people will be easy to manipulate because they will have no principles

  • i really like this! good job dude!!

  • This music is about the NEW WORLD ORDER and the conspirationnist theories. Maynard say that the boogeyman is a story to affraid children. He says: listen the voice in your heard because, theses stories are bullshit, it is just to affraid you to asleep you, to put you feel fear. To make you a sheep. Guys, it's time to wake up, i'm french and know this stuff. WAKE UP, please!

  • @thankucreative

You don't get a shit. New world order is not meant as a conspiracy theory, but as a political term. The song's about goverment and how it wants to make us ignore the war that is going on.

You conspiracy theorists are so fucking ridiculous. And, if you didn't know who the boogeyman is, I have nothing to say.

  • This always is the 2nd part to TNWLM in my mind.

  • Does anyone know where I can get this song for download ? :)

  • hillsidehaven, the words "swinging to the rhythm of the New World Order" should be enough for you to understand how it can be interpreted politically. The NWO has nothing to do with addiction in the generic sense of the word.

  • all of you that believe that the lyrics hit home.....when the time come will you be ready to take this country back, believe me it will not be without bloodshed.

"The tree of liberty must be refreshed from

time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

It is its natural manure." Thomas Jefferson

  • Its funny how quickly we draw conclusions about god through science. Like anyone knows what went down in the past at all. Theres pretty strong proof that humans could be 55 million years old, gravity might not actually exist (magnetism), nobody knows what happens in the singularity of a black hole, there are dimensions we no nothing of, new videos of UFOs uploaded every day from all over the world, and you atheists think you know anything. Science is just another religion with just as many gaps

  • @iguanabomb Possibly one of the most stupid things I've read. There is no rudimentary 'following' or 'belief' for atheists. Many atheists reject a lot of scientific knowledge. And those things you listed make no sense at all. 1/2 of it is supporting science, and the other 1/2 is rejecting it. Where do scientific people reject the existence of UFO's, or the possibility of multiple dimensions? Atheism is simply the rejection of religious/supernatural belief.

  • to all who doesnt understand this song .. this song is about New World Order !!! And a pucnh in the face to the ones who call maynard a satanist and shti !!! Because hes fighting for god's deeds !!! Kosovo is Serbia !! PEACE !!!

  • Lol, in the middle of finals? I'm surprised ppl were even able to find the time to leave their desks... Maybe an exaggeration, but regardless I def give ya props for a good movie, even with time restraints. Only thing I would say could be easily fixed is if the dude (maybe you?) wearing, like, sandals and a rainbow shirt wore something slightly more...ya know...menacing. It's a tad hard to take a guy wearing a rainbow seriously...goes for gay dudes too. rainbow is prob the antithesis of serious.

  • @penguinato23 lol, I know, that's my friend Keith... he's a hippie :) If I could remake it, I def would change the clothing. At the time I just didn't think of it. I'm actually a girl and I was filming all of it so I'm only in it briefly. Thanks for the input!

  • @SeeThruProductions were you the girl holding the govenment sign at 2:22?

  • @theepitathofthedeath no, that was just someone helping out. I am in the video briefly but mostly I filmed it. Why do you ask?

  • @SeeThruProductions you said you were only it briefly so i thought that was you.

  • @penguinato23 what wrong with tie die really i love tie die????????

  • I like how a perfect circle can write about one subject, in this case, addiction, but make it so relatable to other things like war, family relationships, depression, religion, disease, etc.

  • Not bad man....pretty kewl!

  • I thought this was a Tool song. hmm.

  • @knottytrevor maynard is the lead singer of tool too, a perfect circle is somewhat of a side project but not really... basically just two seperate bands with the same vocalist haha

  • I see why Ogrish has this as the theme song QQ

    Fuck yah

  • Its good! I like your analysis and comparison.

  • You used the wrong version for this video. Pet is about fighting an addiction as to where "Couting Bodies Like Sheep to the Rhythm of a War Drum" is the one associated with Politics

  • @hillsidehaven Part of art is interpreting it for yourself.... I think both videos can go both ways. That is what I love about music.

  • @SeeThruProductions It's clearly about the new world order. He blatantly says "swaying to the rhythm of the new world order"

  • @SeeThruProductions But it was "Counting Bodies Like Sheep to the Rhythm of a War Drum" that Maynard wanted to convey as political, not Pet.

  • @hillsidehaven Did he tell you that himself? Music is art, art is interpreted by the listener/viewer... the artist may mean one thing, but in order to reach the audience the artist must understand that it will touch each individual in a different way.... I do not think there is one right or wrong way to interpret either song. That's why it's a wonderful and interesting song that speaks to people.

  • @hillsidehaven I

ll actually have to agree on this one, a better choice possibly would have been Vicarious by Tool, Maynard is their front man too, but what is done is done, not a bad video, and the song is still good :P

  • @hillsidehaven how can you say that when Pet and Counting Bodies Like Sheep to the Rhythym of the War Drums have the EXACT same lyrics?

  • @hillsidehaven pet sounds pretty political, sounds to me like a dictator controlling the people keeping pain, truth, and choice away from them, but in the process failing in the one positive thing he set out to do, which is what totalitarian governments tend to do

  • @hillsidehaven Television is the drug of a nation. The spoon-fed-2-party-us-vs.-them-dumbing-down of politics is a sedative. Watching video game inspired war vicariously through your favorite 24 hour breaking news channel is hypnotic. The overall theme of Thirteenth Step is addiction and resolution, and Pet is about succumbing to the hypnotic effect of politics in Amerika.

  • @hillsidehaven the song while officially said to be about addiction has three levels in my eye

    1. Addiction the first and true meaning

    2. Politics Counting Bodies like Sheep

    3. Abusive Love Overprotective and abusive spouses be it physical, mental, or sexually

I only point this out because, the song can be interpreted in many ways, his isn't wrong, nor is it right it is his choice

  • @hillsidehaven

If Pet is solely about addiction, then explain "swinging to the rhythm of the new world order".

  • @Morbid1XIII All of 13th Step is about addiction. Counting Bodies Like Sheep to the Rhythm of the War Drums is the political version.

  • @hillsidehaven Wow!? Really? Version? Go PICK APART your ass! TROLL.

  • @hillsidehaven What????? This song is written about the politics of war and the pure ignorance that goes with it. The public doesnt want to face the truth! The truth that power currupts. Corperations and governments brainwash you into believing that you have an enemy so they can justify protecting their intrest....OIL! You have no enemy! only yourself!!

  • @hillsidehaven the lyrics are the same, they are both political tracks.

  • ..THE BEST apc song EVER!!!!!!!!!!

  • I popped open the hitler speech in a separate tab and it started playing along with Pet....really...really...strange.

Would've been cool if the beginning was like that.

  • this song is about drugs. not about politics. It can be understood this way too, but it's different. The drug is singing to James this song. Just the idea gives me the cheers. I

  • awesome song and video

  • @sephiroth8988 omg really? I couldn't have worked that out if you didn't point it out. Idiot.

Anyway, great job on the video dude.

  • @TeamSlapHappy

    Oh jeez....*shakes head*

  • i liked the video i love the song...it can have so many meanings what i get from it is a man singing to his child..trying to hide them from this crazy azz world...

  • This song is great. It is my favourite APC song because of the whole feeling and how the quiet and agressive parts combined, always with brilliant vocals from Maynard James. I'l like to invite everyone into this kind of music to check my band on my channel. We're just looking to be heard by people that still listen to GOOD music. If you have a little time check us out. Appreciated. Thanks, peace.

  • Amazing timeing brother.

  • This video was the awesome sauce. I know Media Editing is difficult, and to me, an impossible task. Scripting is more my thing, and making my jewelry lol. Great job!

  • swayin to the rhythm of the NEW WORLD ORDER. ha these guys know. to bad most people don't.. fuck.

  • I UNDERSTAND THIS VIDEO aint high QAULITY BUT I GOTTA GIVE U PROPS ON THE SONG

  • i will fuckin nut over and over to this song!!!!!!

  • i wont let the boogeyman come

  • This video actually goes well with the song.

  • the super powers of the world control and manipulate

  • I am so fucking angry! Fucking rotten system... fucking boogeymen... Fuck!!
