  • So, the fan sort of atomizes the oil as it is pushed into the airstream? Then a pilot flame ignites the mixture in that pot?

  • Looks like Master Shake's about to blow up Carl's pool again.

  • thats smart engineering not a waste...people are thinking of clever ways to heat things wether its your home, garage, or water. many of these ideas have been used years and years ago and the ideas died when the industrial times came along and big companies put these great inventions behind the curtain

  • "there is no smoke cumming out the top of the pipe"

    "this thing is smoking"

  • HAHAHHAHHAHAHAHA @2:01, chaps mine too brother

  • Nice Job for a Hillbilly. Bet you can't build a waste oil fired flat screen television. Now that's a challenge that'll chap your ass!

  • Man, this is awesome, good work, you are very ingenious! I love how you haters are so smart but you have no videos showing better

  • freakin awesome:) prove them wrong even better!!

  • what a waste

  • now, blue lips, im guessing you meant the ones on someones face and not the other ones females have. looks great tho man GL with future projects.

  • Nice commentary my friend. you cracked me up :)

  • Can you post on how you built this amazing unit!!!

  • me too!! Don't tell me it can't be done!! Because they will be proved wrong 10 times over.

  • hahaha right on

  • Have you tried placing a piece of bubble wrap over the water surface when you are not using the pool? It insulates against surface heat loss and also has a "Glasshouse" effect further warming the water when the sun is out.

A couple of dollars worth of Bubble wrap will last all summer, possiby two, if you look after it.

  • right arm. good job. Im looking to do the same but with wood.

  • sorry to bust your video, but this isn't really redneck, if you want to do something redneck way, get a metal pool an raise it at least 2 feet and set firewood under it and light it, wait about 15 to 30 minutes and it will get really warm, then you can enjoy swimming, far better than waiting for 6 hours, but nice setup though :)

  • If it is really redneck, you would have raised the pool and set a fire beneath it. LOL.

  • you could just a suggestion is to put a ball valve that goes into your heater to adjust how much flow runs through it slow it down and it would warm up faster ..as a pool tech. put a pipe by passing you heater and the ball valve going into your heater to slow the flow down awesome job though

  • Thats not redneck nice setup the guy down the road from me bought a coal boiler and just hooked it up to his pool he was just burning wood in the first couple runs he had his pool up to 96 lol then got it dialed in to run about 80-84

  • Ya man, like your pool heater, I know what ya mean about the nay sayers, they told me i couldnt make a wood burning furnace out of a wood burner. Well ive been heating my house with it for about 7 years now, works great, check out my chanel.

  • HEY HILLBILLY: CALL ME I'D LIKE TO LOOK AT YOUR HEATER.

  • Nice upgrade to those white collar pool heaters that suck ass at heating your pool. I think the next step would be a redneck solar heater to heat the water when the sun shines. I know living up north pool heaters are the best cuz the sun don't shine all the time and the weather is so cold even in summer sometimes but power to you.

  • how is this redneck? it looks awesome! now an old 50 gallon drum thats redneck!

  • NICE!

  • Thats fuckin awesome

  • Holy cannoli!!!! This is by far the best DIY pool heater yet. I, too, have a Hayward that I didn't fix after a $800 gas bill.....WHOOPS! That won't happen again. Now I need to be schooled on the oil burner part. Friggin awesome to say the least!!!

  • how do you heal your chapped ass?

  • @makealilmoney He soaks it in a nice warm pool! ;->

  • That's...actually kinda brilliant.

  • I couldnt afford to run that thing.

  • LOL!!!!

altho... i believe mine is more redneck than you flash pool heater.

  • Great job and great attitude.

Never listen to the nay sayers, especially as none of them actually know what they are talkin' about. They hust can't stand seeing someone do something for themselves that works.

  • Great work!

The thing seems to perform well. With that much fire it's probably out performing it's original spec by quite a bit. I have played with oil burners, I know how much heat they produce. I need to set myself up something similar now!

  • chap what lol

  • no smoke out of the top pipe doesn't mean other things aren't, like bad invisible emisions!

  • the only reason no smock is because the gasses coming out are very hot i dont know why but all i know is when the gasses get hotter it burnes off the smoke or somthing

  • Great job my friend

  • you did get er done

  • awe man ur lucky for ur dimmer on ur burner cause i used a real burner and put a dimmer on it and it would turn on and off and on and off

  • lmao, i'm a pool tech. i can only imagine what hayward said when you asked about it

  • It's too bad you didn't take any test rreadings... how much temp increase did you have in 60 minutes ? , what is the water flow gpm running thru it ? .... etc. If a regular pool pump was in use, it's about 20 gal per minute.... but how much increase did you see in your pool ? also what is the size of your pool ? - Great job though, - I love it !

  • This is awesome! Way to think outside the box! I can't tell from the pictures but if you don't already have a pool cover, you'll see much higher temp capabilities and heat retention. Great job though!

  • hell ya that frickin awsome

  • You are truley a redneck. You make your Kentucky family proud.
