I'm surprised that didn't give Shagaal a ranged weapon to use. Oh well, I'm sure you're not complaining about that one bit.  And daaaang, you are about to be rushed by a lot of enemies.

But dang, these chapters are long and epic, 38 parts just to get to chapter 3.

That's just how the game is, It's short chapter wise, but each chapter has it's own complications and trials to overcome. Think of one chapter from this game as about 2-4 chapters from the other Fire Emblem games, usually about 1 chapter for every castle on the map, just with no rest between the chapters.

Yeah, I've noticed that, and I like this formula better, it makes you manage your units better (between healing, knowing when to return to a castle to repair, etcetera). It also allows you to have more units out on the field, which only increases the epicness more.
