Actually the graphics for this are great! I know sgcim's comments are three years old but I'd be curious to see what he/she'd rather see. Presumably some Islamic fundamentalists having a shower together or some chickens being forced into a breadbin....
I am so happy there are so many different versions of one my 'quiet classic' songs. I love the melody and lyrics.......never before was I free to fall for anyone...... so sweet.
The band was Roger Nichols, Murray MacLeod, and his sister Melinda MacLeod. Nichols wrote the music to "Love So Fine", which was also recorded as an instrumental by Herb Alpert. The lyrics are by Tony Asher, who also wrote lyrics for Brian Wilson. The band only put out one album (1967) and a few singles, but Nichols had a successful songwriting career through the 70s.
I like the way women's fashions of the late 60s look more like giftwrap than clothing. The pattern on the two outfits in the background at 1:27 would make great wallpaper.
I don't know about the graphics, but nice song. I understand Roger Nichols was the main composer for the Carpenters. I always thought it was Paul Williams.
With hindsight, it's a bit amusing how women's clothing circa 1969 looked like giftwrap. I vaguely recall the wallpaper in the kitchen of my childhood home looking something like the pattern that the ladies are wearing at 1:27

It appears that the ladies pictured are models. It is unlikely that they are the artists singing on this recording.

Does anyone have any info on this rather obscure band? Only heard this on an internet station and who was the lady singing lead?

You can look up Roger Nichols (composer) to find out more. He and Paul Williams also wrote We've Only Just Begun for the Carpenters.

This band was/is one of the main inspirations for Swing out Sister's wonderful music.

That's interesting. I like Swing Out Sister a lot.. Another great vocal group is Free Design, though they are hard to peg down.

It's too bad they didn't do a version of this song, this upbeat -- unless I'm wrong?
