  • hey, will this be any good to replace a stock HS/F for a athlon x4 640? i dont really want to watercool, but i wana get my temps a little lower, i got a aftermarket cooler master 430 elite case, so i have plenty of room.

  • AGECOOLER cool your cpu

  • Can you rotate it?

  • one other guy swapped the default cooler on amd quadcore.. wow the difference in sound.. it was almost soundless in idle !

  • I got mine this week, and while it's a good cooler, it does have a few quirks.

The fan seems to have a weird humming/buzzing noise to it. A low frequency one that never seems to stop. No matter what speed I set the fan to, it just keeps humming. So that's quite annoying.

However, the temps are quite good. I've got it on my stock 2500k and it's keeping it @ below 38 most of the time.

  • Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 @3,5Ghz. Idle temperatures 26'C for core 1, and 30'C for core 2. Load temperatures 48'C and 51'C, and fan at minimum (noiseless!!) really good FAN! Room was around 23'C or so

  • could you do a little bit of overclocking with the it?

and btw what small cpu cooler would you recommend for a mid tower case?

  • IS THIS PUSH PIN FOR 775

  • this is strange... I bought this cooler for my CPU, AMD athlon64 2X 2.7GHz duel core, but it made my idle temperate increase from 34C to 40C but on load it change it from 61C to 59C max. but this doesn't seem right. why did it make my idle temp go up? my original cooler I used was a stock cooler and it kept my idle temps real low. Did i not apply enough thermal paste? I covered the whole heat spreader with a thin layer with a pea sized dab. my room temperature is no higher than 74F. please reply

  • @GamerFollower

The fan on this heat sink is also stuck a 300 RPM and on the website it says it should go a min of 800 RMP. why is it stick on that? I have a 3pin connector even though it is a 4pin

  • I was wondering which program you use to do your benchmarking and show the temperature? I'd like to know since I have bought this cooler and I am considering overclocking my CPU based on the performance of the cooler ;)

  • this or hyper tx3?

  • Anyone know how to get a bracket so a aftermarket cooler can be installed in a Dell?

  • At last we could see 'normal' hsf not like the other tower form, with nice perform you can take it to the list :)

  • Would you recommend this or the Coolermaster Hyper 212 Plus, its one of the larget brick style CPU Coolers, I was afraid that the Hyper 212 PLus might not fit in my case :P. Oh also I want to use a Phenom X4 955 :)

    Cheers

  • @PCWizKid

hey what is the name of the software you used before the CPU-z? the one with the temp reading?

  • @ashrocks87

Core temp :), google search will get ya there, its free aswell!!

  • @StefanH1234

    oh haha thanks!

  • Is that cooler quiet?

  • @maxoomen i have it. its really good.

  • I don't like it, not much point

  • wow Sempron? Who would use this cooler on a Sempron processor? Hey PCWizkid, i got a question. Does the Sempron even have a dual core? Most of them are Single cores. And its pointless to have this CPU cooler in a single core processor?

  • Damn that's one m'er f'er of a PSU, I have to say. Quite contrary to the low profile cooler itself.

  • @PCWizKid what is the Phenom IIs max temp/safe temp?

  • 64 bit ? thats lot ! but what is accually bit ??????

  • @superhacker35

    32 bit is 32 binary digits : 10011001100110011001100110011001

    64 bit is 64 binary digits : 1001100110011001100110011001100110011001100110011001100110011001

  • @timmehtimmmeh but how does this affect on the system performance ?

  • nice

  • Would this work on an Intel Pentium 4 processor? Old I know but sure if it ain't broke don't fix it :)

  • @beanhead1996 Yes

  • Would this cooler work good with my AMD Phenom X4 965@3.4 Ghz?

  • No offense, but you sound like you would be a simpsons character. lol

  • @killyourself2862 You falsely think so because his logo resembles the Simpson animation, otherwise - NO

  • @negee3 wow,serious much?

  • @PCWizKid

    One thing.

When showing the running idle and load temps reviewing CPU coolers, do try to mention the ambient temperatures. Being from an equatorial region, the temperatures here are very different from what you guys have (was previously from Vancouver)

This will give viewers from different areas a rough gauge to the performance of the coolers used in your vids, as I'm sure it'd be cooler in some other parts of the world, and not as cool in others.

  • @randomdrifter I usually do , in this case only I didnt. It was 21C Celsius room temp.

  • @PCWizKid I didn't notice, my bad D=

  • lga 775 ?

  • @KronoReaper yup!

  • Wow for a low profile cooler, I'm impressed! Thanks for the review, clearly explains why the temperatures on the 610e were a little high. although personally i find putting a heat sink that is fed from the top underneath a power supply with a "tight fit" would starve the heat sink. although if it has more room to breath it would most likely preform better imo. again great review!

  • i am thing about buying this :)

  • I saw a video of an unboxing of a phenom ii x4 965be. The stock cooler of that cpu looked like this one.

  • Hello, this cooler is better than the V8 or V10 coolmaster? I'm about to buy a cooler to overclock, or what would you recommend for a QX9775? thanks

  • @klm06 Since you have a 150watt processor i would use a coolermaster V10 and since your overclocking you need a V10 dont get anything lower then a V8. This cooler is only good for energy saving computers and stock computers.

  • Good!(:

  • @erick0430131 soon im going to run my games at a lower temperature and maybe it wont overheat as much.

  • Im going to buy this today for my stock computer its small and not that expensive

  • Good ol' Nerd Pr0n.

  • i have this cooler and highly recommend it

  • why is a cpu cooler so important ??? i have an i7 should i get one?

  • @charlot1993 A normal stock cooler is already fine if your not into extreme gaming or just internet streaming , but if you want to play faster , more hardcore , you need to overclock the cpu higher and that means hotter CPU which means you need better branded cpu coolers...

  • My AMD Heatsink looks EXCACTLY like that heatsink. It runs really hot at 60C @ stock speeds.

  • u should have put the fan to pull air from the heatsink and the psu to pull it out;;) maby it would make a difference?

  • @TheMRamstaff The thing is mode cases will have an intake on the side panel so it would be smarter to have it the way it is.

  • nice cooler but i think for 30 dollars the coolmaster hyper 212+ is the best bang for your buck . They say it almost performs as well as those huge sky tower coolers but for half the price .I am not a huge fan of coolers that blow air hot air back to the cpu.

  • @cisco760ca works well , but u said well , almost , every heatsint is meant to work with a certain rpm fan

but this heatsink is crap , even pcwizkid said

  • @TheMRamstaff well for 30 dollars compare to the 60 to 70 dollar heatsinks and almost runs the same ... gotta say the hyper 212+ is awsome

  • Pretty good.

  • how long do you think the ati radeon hd 5850 will last, like how long til it gets out-dated?

  • @IchimaruGinStudios -It already is , ....The best in Class is gtx 470 ,...lol!...

  • @mrjamesb56 lol gtx 370 is alredy outdated by ati lol

  • i saw this b4 i herd i was good but i think this is more for smaller cases

  • Thanks for the vid; I've been looking for a CPU cooler for a Silverstone Sugo SG05. Not surprisingly, it's a pain to find a decent heatsink for a mini-ITX system.

  • nice

  • my stock AMD cooler is enough for my Athlon II X2 245 to run cool @ 3.6Ghz, so no 3rd party cooling needed. still a nice and quiet product.

  • @nelizmastr no one asked.

  • @sethy1 useless response man. mind your own business

  • @nelizmastr Useless comment man, stop wasting the worlds time. Also AMD SUCKS NATS

  • @sethy1 intel fanboy alert, dont comment AMD without proper usage of a MODERN AMD processor. Ive used core2duo's and my current Athlon II, and the Athlon II has more capabilities imo, with only 1mb cache less, which isnt noticable

  • @nelizmastr lol youre a fucking idiot dude. I bet you get laid ofter.

  • @sethy1 you dont have a reason to swear at me. you cant even support your opinion with good arguments. if you are so ignorant to just yell at people, then go hang yourself

  • @sethy1 AMD doesn't suck! I've used AMD for a long time and they have awesome CPUs. The reason why your processor overheats is because you have a shit CPU cooler. Or maybe you don't know how to use a computer hardware. END OF DISCUSSION!!

  • @nelizmastr yeah same, haha i have same cpu and stock cooler, 3.45 GHz... how you get it that high dude? my comp wont POST... message me please man wud be a great help

  • @xScoTTyM Not all cpu's are the same, some over clock like a beast while others wont properly go a few megahertz over their stock clocks

  • @snowboarder629 meh, workth a try to see what his settings are etc... :D

  • Wow! cool!
