i think the humour is actually misplaced here. like, great voice, but. idk. like some of Jacques Brel's other songs, i think they're more funny at the beginning but by the end you see that they're actually really sad and frightening.

@simplesimplicity4 .. agreed.. Brel touched people's darker emotional places.. and he meant to. He wrote about life as it was.. no glitter or misplaced softness. I think that people who laugh at this song don't get the true meaning...
