Man, you talk like you sleeping on the camera or near the camera:). Take some action in the motion and some more light:). Rim is good finished, but I think still need some polish.
I got some vintage mags they just looked dirty at first but have pits with corrosion what would I do to get rid of the corrosion I think its a little deep to just sand it out.
I might try and have them glass beaded or powder coated but I like the original look and don't want to spend too much.
yea really really stoned ,,hes falling asleep around 307 lol,,dude if he was polishing that hard he would be fucked and out of breath ,this guys watchin the video and prob havin a wank hahhahaha
Thanks for going to the effort of putting this tutorial together. I think using a finer grit sand paper into the 1000+ range would get you that mirror chrome finish, although it looks like lots of elbow grease. I wonder what the best way to get into those nooks and crannies is though? Drill and dremel bits?
i built a sand blaster and it got rid of the clear coat and a blue undercoat, but it turned out that there is a layer of powder coat on the very bottom that is VERY difficult to get off (sand blaster would not work)
i used 80 grit to chew through the powder coat, and moved up to 220, then 400, and am doing 1500 2morrow.
Im done 2 rims but have 2 left. Any suggestions anyone????
@ghostma13 if you look nearly at the 1996 vti honda civic sedan stock rims, there is some outlines. i cant describe but if you get what i mean can you halp me?
@ghostma13 do I need to apply a clearcoat after? I used aircraft stripper to get the clearcoat off, then sanded, then used rubbing compound and polish. But do I need to reapply a clearcoat?
@myuzz apparently aluminum oxidizes quickly without a clearcoat? Have you experienced this? because i really dont want to have to resand all my rims if they oxidize
if you clear coat them you may have the clear start flaking off and that dont look vary good i just keep them clean and polish them every couple of weeks and dont let water sit on them because thats what makes them dall out
