It's possible, sure. So many Japanese fiction titles end in "Zetto" or "Zero" or "Ultimate". Nagai doesn't mention the alloy until page 86 (as compiled in the first volume). Then again, the first mechanical monster that Mazinger fights (Garada) doesn't show up until page 100.
