  • This guys got old money and still gettin money

  • In the jungle the lion sleeps tonight

  • This song was on a mix-cd i got as a kid, and i always thought it was like real african people playing drums and singing since i had no idea who was singing it! <3 i love it

  • at the start, they had a recording of one of their Gay Gangbangs :P

  • 'Tm, tm,tm,tm taah-raah' in the begging(and later through the song) was the only kind of 'solo' he got while in *NSYNC. I wish they gave him at least one decent solo because I love his deep voice! Now who's with me ?

    Lance Bass ftw ♥

  • @KullGurl810 but but.....hes GAY!

  • @mightymouse5565 So what if he's gay? What is your point ? >.<

  • Glee before there was Glee.

  • i miss so muchhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • unreal

  • essa epoca massa legal

  • I agree!!!!!!!!

  • I want them back! they're fantastic!

  • wooooooow

  • not gonna lie...this is great!

  • The last time that I hread this song was back in 6th grade

  • Once they got going they were pretty good but whatever that was supposed to be in the beginning well it sounded like someone was constipated!

  • @Key300 I was thinking the same thing! 0_o

  • @leobrilhante No way No way Bsb sucks Bsb sucks they cant sing acapella..,....NSYNC IS THE GREATEST BAND EVER.....BOOM TEAM NSYNC

  • I Miss Nsync, Backstreet Boys, Five, Hanson, Spice Girls, *Britney Spears, *Cristina Aguilera and Westlife!!!

    * When they was young and don't use the body to get money, when they use their voices...

  • @Tilimteuk we had the real music the kids today have autotune and half naked girls

  • I must say, I'm impressed.

  • not bad :3

  • WICKED *-*

  • BEST VERSION I'VE EVER HEARD :D

  • This was a redo of the 1961 hit song by the same title by The Tokens. It had nothing to do with apartheid. Apartheid was not even on the radar. I don't even think that Nelson Mendela was imprisoned at this time. but it is a great redo.

  • @hwayland1 You are exactly right! This was just a fun song sung over 45 years

ago by a group called the tokens. It is too bad that music like this just can't be

enjoyed for what it is, without looking through a prism of politics, or things

    going on in the world.

  • I made it 3 seconds into the song

  • 273 people haven'see the simpson episode with the sync

  • now i gotta find WahabY1234 comments! fuck top comments!

  • kinda soundes like somones takin a piss in the backrounds great vid though

  • Gay

  • I was rlly surprised that nsync did a cover of such a classic, timeless song, and i applaud thme for having gone outside th perameters of pop, hwihc NO OTHER BOY BAND HAS EVER DONE! But their acapella version is better b/c it didnt have the background jungle noises. chris's voice is perfect for all the falsettos, im glad they switched it up ... although i never get tired of hearing jc's voice ;)))

  • Nsync the Best Boyband ever Created.....BSB sucks...BOOM TEAM NSYNC

  • @MrBOBBYOO6 No NO & NO... BSB 4EVER, BSB THE BEST BOY BAND!

  • I KNEW there was a reason I preferred the Backstreet Boys as a little girl. (:

  • the tokens vs. n'sync in the lion sleeps tonight is a draw.

  • O_O LMAO!

  • omg this is horrible. actually, let me be fair in critiquing this.

Chris is a fantastic countertenor (I'm one myself)...although not better than Jay Siegel.

Modern, yes. But mixing that kind of pop with doo-wop, takes out the soulfulness.

It's not seductive- I feel "the lion" would wake up and eat them.

Speaking of the lion, I don't think they have any idea what "the lion" is. I'm very anal about understanding the subtext of scripts/lyrics.

Better than average? Yes. Still give it a C-.

  • ewwww..... if you want to see a modern day cover of the lion sleeps tonight, look up 'straight no chasers' version of this. The lead singer is friggin talented!

  • no offence but their voices in this song are really high pitched and girly i personally prefer the orginal this version sounds whiny and just annoying really -_-

  • Oh,noooo!

  • i like this version better! idk why but the original version annoys me

  • Hey - variety is the spice of life! Does this do you harm? Naw... It's good its own groove.

  • pop...Ruins...EVERYTHING!!!

  • Oh man Chris was so perfect for this song!!!!!!

  • counter tenor much...damn impressive

  • Comment removed

  • This version is gay!!!!!!!!

  • cool version!! :D

  • im impressed! i didnt think it be good. they done great on this song!

  • Normally I love 'N Sync, but they ruined this song.

  • I love the way they sing this, it's amazing :)

  • There is a big banana that this version sucks-

    Back to the Tokens.

  • CHRIS!!! XD <3

  • ugh this version sucks

  • they just ruined the song

  • awesome song

  • Being a purist, I loved the original by the Tokens. This version is awesome. Fantastic arrangement, loved the lead vocals, the pop, great harmony. I look at this band from a different perspective.

  • way too much beat & too slow on the lyrics

  • fuck first time i ever say this but justin bieber is better than this shit (and i despise justin bieber) ....... totally ruined the song...

  • @wullieboy991 Justin Bieber never have the voice that they have

  • wow, i never knew they covered this song! lol

  • 803 are gay!

  • @MrMplp figure it out.

  • It would have been nice if Chris got more solos in songs because I really love his voice.

  • the best version of this song

  • @WestlifeVideos you're kidding right? I sure hope so. The best is the original by Lebo M.

  • it's not justin who sings it's chris lol

  • This is terrible why cover this song it's like elvis covering shud up ya face

  • never heard this cover before- love it!

  • I love how Justin sings this! LOL! I miss the days when everything was about either NSYNC or Backstreet

  • @DemiLovatoVids At the risk of sounding like a complete pansy...I'm pretty sure that's Chris on lead vocals for this song.

  • @robohobo Correct lol. Who knew he had such an awesome voice? The only other time I've actually heard his voice up front is in their song "I Drive Myself Crazy". =)

  • nick pitera

  • Its something different, so this was quite enjoyable. Nice pop taste to it

  • I really enjoyed this version when I was like 10 years old but I didn't remember who was singing it, so I'm so happy that I found it! <3

  • @MsLaraCroftx i dont remember was it made for usa

  • not as good as original but still fun to listen to

  • this is so awful im kinda ashamed to say i like it !

  • ^ ^' The song what take me to the dream world...

  • This is a wonderful version -Who Knew? Thank you very much -Dj

  • anyone know what cd this is on? or itunes? i cant find it anywhere?

  • @devildawgpk B-side of "For The Girl Who Has Everything"

  • It sounds as if he is having an ashma attack at the very beginning but the rest is good.

  • I dig.

  • om i found it

  • WOW !!!!!!! I loved it,they were awesome, why do some of you people like to hate, geez relax, its all good....thank you for posting it...

  • wow i cant imagen how could they have the heart to make it like that i hate it

and r girls singing or boys................

  • @WahabY1234 dude why? this is a cool song

  • @WahabY1234 Boys, obviously... it's freaking *NSync, duh.

  • Well, as much as I hate to admit it, this isn't too bad. In fact I kind of like it. Yes, it's different then other versions of the song but I think that's a good thing. Who wants to hear a remake that sounds exactly the same as the one before. It's light, peppy, fun and I don't think they're trying to make a serious version of this song so that's fine. Sometimes fun and lighthearted is good enough.

  • Boo

  • No1 :P:D

  • supééér ..:o)

  • this totally ruins the song completely.. Seriously, the OG is the best one

  • It's not bad at all. But then again, how can you screw up a great song?

  • @angelthman its easy toscrew up a good song its done all the time.

  • @angelthman easy... watch the lion sleeps tonight by carpe diem lol

  • My friend Scott Hutson loves this song!

  • what a load of crap!

  • agreed, total raping

  • I just listened to this version for the first time, and I LOVED it!!!

  • horrible

  • just the moaning and grunting at the beginning won me over...yum

  • the beginning sounds wrong XD

  • I dont like Cover versions and

    I hate boygroups.

    But this one rocks!

  • Not a bad version, pretty good. There are better versions.

It's a good upbeat jam version though.

  • This is a very cool song!

  • muito bom,otimo

  • @eddie23a can't you just enjoy the song?

  • @eddie23a i feel sorry for you.

  • Comment removed

  • @missme543 actually it isn't really , the song is about apartheid in South Africa and the oppression of the indigenous black population by invading white Europeans, a rather dark and shameful chapter in history.

The sleeping lion is a metaphor for Shaka King of the Zulus who would one day awake and slay the conquering invaders.

  • @eddie23a

who cares xD it's been baptisted into an childrens song, no one will be like : oh no now my kids cant ever listen to this song anymore :S

  • @eddie23a thanks eddie for the info, i would never have imagined the meaning of the lyrics, Cheers!

  • @eddie23a you talk shit

  • @eddie23a Considering the original mention of lions sleeping didn't appear until the Tokens did a heavily-westernized version in 1959, I find this highly doubtful.

The original song, "Mbube" was about Solomon Linda's hunting a lion as a young boy. The interpretation of the sleeping Shaka King was Pete Seeger's thoroughly Western interpretation and is disputed by most folklorists as a Eurocentric understanding.

  • @eddie23a DAMN ! u know ur history.. and i thot i was a history buff...u just proved me wrong ;)

  • @eddie23a You are correct on what you say!!!! Great song too.....

  • the original is sooo much better

  • Ha Awesome version!

  • like i said with the last comment i made for a different person i love the song no matter who sings it or lip sings it

  • I'm not a fan of NSync... but this remake isn't bad.

  • @FutureMrsMcKee

Not sure why you felt the need to 'correct' my statement.....I'm well aware that Mbube was the original. Thanks.

  • Yeah, it's real rare to hear Chris with lead on a song and it's awesome. And WOW you actually can hear Lance real well....if you know what to listen for. But ya..awesome version.

  • as much as i dont like nsync...this is pretty good

  • I don't like this version very much.

  • lol calm down, it's not that bad.

  • just terrible.

  • that' s great song

  • justin timberlake lol

  • @crazyidiot102 Sorry, but if you knew nsync at all, you'd know that Justin cannot sing that high. That is Chris.

  • This version is nice :-)

  • masi q bosta!!! estragarao a musica

  • keep in mind... this is really old.. when this style was more popular.. they recorded this before they even got big in america... so i was like 14 or 15.. and i'm 27 now.. lol... whatever.. sad that i know that... i don't care :)

  • This lacks any heart or soul whatsoever.

  • What a beautiful and cool version! I used to see the film long ago with my kids, who are 17, 15 and 12 now. I wish I could turn back time... Thanks for posting this!

  • hehe, 1st time i've heard this version, love it :)

  • i used to listen to this song when i was little. (: but i swear it was justin timberlake & brittany spears.. lol

  • is it wrong to like it?

  • @voxbox18 no, I don't think so.... I love it! so therefore if it is wrong, I don't wanna be right! hahaha! =D

  • This song started out in South Africa and was brought to America by Soloman Linda. Many people have covered it,The tokens made it a hit in the early 60s,Robert John covered it in the 70s. My favorite is the African version by Mirium Makeba. The last African King is the lion who is sleeping and waiting to awaken one day.

  • hmmm i'm ashamed to say i enjoyed listening to this

  • @eeegthespaz don"t be ashamed

  • Sure, the Tokens sang this golden oldie the best but I really like this rendition by NSync. Great dance beat..

  • great version ;)

  • omfg

  • I actually was bopping my head to this...shame shame......but the Tokens ROCKED IT!!

I'm with Skidonti on this one...it didn't totally suck. And why does it sound like NSync are a bunch of Smurfs in this song?
