I think it's a nice end when they turn and talk, he was able to center all life and eventually meet a girl who is the love of his life. This area is a little more theater and does not fit in the entire film. We have the original end of the sad and happy and let everyone prefers to choose. But I think it's best when they passed each other as this film makes one feel that the charm of his skin.
I was told that the original ending was good but the alternate/Directors cut ending made no sense. The directors cut ending made perfect sense to me but it involved him going back to before he was born and he strangled himself with the umbelical cord so that he was never born. I have no idea where this ending came from... is this the same movie?
@ChainGunDragon I know what you mean. I watched it last night and my DVD had the same alternate ending aswell, where he's never born. There are quite a few alternate endings to this movie, but the theatrical ending is the one where he simply just walks away after noticing her.
@RockAustinDXtakerRk0 I had the same issue with Blade Trinity. In one version Drake took Blade's form before he died, In the other Blade escapes and Drake is lying where he died.

okay this may sound werid but you know after watching a movie like this you have this werid feeling in your brain if you havent watched this movie yet go see it from start to finish and you'll know what im talking about

this ending is definitely happier, and yeah it makes you feel a lot better at the end, but it would have ruined the whole idea of Evan sacrificing everything he loved so they could have a better life...I like to think of the original ending happening, then some day in the future Evan and Kayleigh meeting up again and this time they do start to talk, showing that they really were meant to be together

Die die ihn finanziert haben fanden das aber zu depressiv bzw. zu unpopulär (man möchte wohl dass die Menschen glücklich aus dem Kino gehen, damit sie ihn anderen empfehlen), also wollten sie ein positiveres Ende. Ich meine gelesen zu haben dass deswegen ein paar weitere Enden entstanden, und zum Glück hat sich das Studio für ein zumindest nicht 100% positives Ende entschlossen.
@PunkDollie92 but the life sometimes have true miracles(love,pasion,etc)for a happy person one sad ending will be the best because is a form of catharsis,but for some melancholic person this kind of endings sucks,the life is hard sometimes and we need reflected the fantasy in this movies,but this kind of ending ruined all,i prefer this ending,the others are very depressive for me
it was an okay ending, not as realistic as the real ending. in the movie it ends the way it should. the way things should be, they no longer needed to know each other seeing as how he let her go by changing the past permenentaly
