I am the Lt that this video series speaks of, first and foremost, I never wrote any of it. I have never nor will ever consider myself a "War Hero" and quit frankly anyone of the soldiers that served with me would tell you that as well. I was part of a team of 63 soldiers, many were transfers, cross levels etc some came from units that had no clue of how to treat combat soldiers, but for sure when they came to the 518th we sure appreciated all of them and those 63 are the people I call Hero.

Cute but stupid. An officer fills the billet of the convoy commander and a staff NCO fills the billet of the Assistant convoy commander. Since the "CC" and the "A slash" have all the freqs to adjacent units, Casevac freqs, and are pretty much running the show. It makes no since to put a fucking captain in the gun where he is most vulnerable. What im getting out of this is that someone was medal chasing. You put boots in the gun so if they go down you can still accomplish your mission.

None taken. But in the Marine Corps an 0-3 is a company level pay grade. So why is a company commander up in the gun? He goes down and someone has to explain to battalion why theyre down one commander. It just doesnt make sense and no one can give me an answer. And I take it you cant answer my question either so point out the fact that I didnt use spell check? Yes, I do know what Im talking about. I have never seen an officer on a gun unless its on a range. 3 years of service 1 deployment

That sounds good, however you were not in the position that I or any other leader was in at the time and if your leaders failed to set the example of leading from the front be it an officer or not then they failed to show you the basic leadership characteristic which is never ask anyone to do something you would not do first. Try reading the book "Leadership Lessons of Jesus Christ"

I was the Lt on the Gun I can only tell you that I would lead from the best position that I could influence the battle while still maintaining my position as the SECURITY Commander. Medal Chasing, I think that comment is childish, how about just leading from the front because it is the right thing to do and not hiding behind my soldiers. Go talk to Captain Chontosh the Marine officer that went forward to destroy the enemy earning him the Navy Cross. I bet he could explain it for you as well.
