The game have gotten alot better now, patch 1.9 have added alot of new things, and 2.0 will add alot of end-game features, so i wouldent say the game is bad.

had* 13.4 million subscribers in 1 continent (asia). cause it was a beta phase and free. time will show how many ppl will actually pay for it. it only came out on the market 3days ago. if it has half those people in 6months its gonna be a succes. wow is getting old anyway but i stoped liking aion after i realised it shared the same crappy enchant system as lineage which means donators will own the game. plus lvls are grindable you dont even have to do quests nice graphics but boring.
it was a closed beta korea only, then it expanded a bit, the beta only lasted a couple weeks on the west, mainly it was applied on asia like almost all ncsoft games
i think most of the thrill in aion is more PvP based rather than just PvE based. And I do not think there is "donations" so all players are pretty much on equal footing. At launch I believe it was said that there were 400k pre-orders
400k pre orders doesnt mean 400k ppl will still be playing after a year though, wether it will be succesfull or not will show over time, and pure pvp is boring

I'm also one of the people simply burned out with WoW. I've done everything and seen everything the game has to offer. The one reason I may not switch over to Aion though has nothing to do with gameplay or graphics. Aion has been played overseas for years now, and I simply don't want to step into a MMORPG that there are literally millions of already experienced users on. I don't like the idea of being the new guy in a room full of pros.
You are not, the game has been played overseas yes, but the possibility of you playing with a lot of asian peeps on eu og us servers is very small. You are only going to play with others from your region, and there will most likely be some who have played beta or even played the korean version. But you are not the only guy in the room with pros, many are going to but the game when it releases. So don't worry ;)

I've been playing Aion china for quite some time now and I have to say this game made me (finally) quit WoW for good. Aion just feels like a fresh well made MMO.. WoW is getting too old to me, too easy aswell =)
Having only played beta, I very impressed with this game. Coming from a WoW player of 4 years, I cannot wait til this goes live! It's beautiful, varied, has dynamic play, and there was literally ZERO grind from 1-18 (as far as I got). Fun quests and nice additions to the MMO world.
Graphically the game looks pretty amazing for an MMO. I just hope its not going to be a Korean grindfest. I hope they found balance in this game. I will probably get after seeing some reviews.
I'm in the closed beta and the grind so far has been minimal, Theres a great amount of quests and even if you do grind instead the environments and skill chain combat keep it interesting, I'll have to wait for higher level beta events to find out if it gets annoying (at least it can't get any worse than WoW's grind)

That's a typical wow player. For some reason comparing the gameplay. Comparing 1 game at it's peak endgame aspect, to another game at the lowbie levels. Of course a level 80 DK is gonna be a bit more fun than a level 8 Sorcerer...But try comparing a level 8 Rogue to a level 50 Gladiator. owned. im no mmo noob, sorry if wow is the only mmo you've ever subscribed to.

Well I'm pretty sure I'm backing up WoW right now, but of course little kids that can't handle something like WoW might actually be better than Aion will just write it off as "Fanboyism". I played both. And the reason WOW has 10m subscribers (not 11.5, it's plumetting) is the same reason Britney Spears sells so many records. I assume you think Britney Spears is the best as well? lol. My rage isnt blind, and i dont hate wow. I just realize a better, more polished game. Compare this to WOW when it was first released. lmfao.

That's not the point idiot, you can't go back in time so don't compare Aion now to WoW then. You have to compare them as they are now, and WoW is far more polished, and is a far better game no matter what you say, and acting like Aion is the best game of the world because it has better graphics just shows how unintellegent you are. WoW will stand and Aion will fall, but like AoC, Tabula Rasa, Hellgate, War Hammer, and all the other crappy MMOs you probably said would beat WoW.

I'm also one of the people simply burned out with WoW. I've done everything and seen everything the game has to offer. The one reason I may not switch over to Aion though has nothing to do with gameplay or graphics. Aion has been played overseas for years now, and I simply don't want to step into a MMORPG that there are literally millions of already experienced users on. I don't like the idea of being the new guy in a room full of pros.

You are not, the game has been played overseas yes, but the possibility of you playing with a lot of asian peeps on eu og us servers is very small. You are only going to play with others from your region, and there will most likely be some who have played beta or even played the korean version. But you are not the only guy in the room with pros, many are going to but the game when it releases. So don't worry ;)

I'm competitive and I always want an edge. This usually means being in on the Alpha or Beta. There's barely a month left before release and I don't want to start a massive learning curve again. I'm sick of learning curves. EQ, EQ2, DAoC, WoW, WHO, all variations on a theme, and this is the same with different graphics. It's FPS time for me again

unless its your first MMO, there shouldnt be an exponential learning curve . grind do quests and boom go kickass in pvp.
and and, to extinguish you, you'll be happy to know the game servers are restricted due to billing differences so, you dont have to be affraid of loosing a few duels from the Pro koreans hehe, chill out.

I've been playing Aion china for quite some time now and I have to say this game made me (finally) quit WoW for good. Aion just feels like a fresh well made MMO.. WoW is getting too old to me, too easy aswell =)

$12 at most. Anyways, i love this game so much! Not only does it look great with max graphics, but it also stays at a constant 80-120fps :)
And during massive pvp fights, i have yet to see the game drop below 60fps

Having only played beta, I very impressed with this game. Coming from a WoW player of 4 years, I cannot wait til this goes live! It's beautiful, varied, has dynamic play, and there was literally ZERO grind from 1-18 (as far as I got). Fun quests and nice additions to the MMO world.

I'm in the closed beta and the grind so far has been minimal, Theres a great amount of quests and even if you do grind instead the environments and skill chain combat keep it interesting, I'll have to wait for higher level beta events to find out if it gets annoying (at least it can't get any worse than WoW's grind)
