Now, I have some feedback for you about your framing. When framing a shot, it's good to follow the rule of thirds and put the eyes 1/3 from the top of the screen. One big no no of framing a shot is to cut your subject at the elbows. Your close up shots were framed perfectly but your medium shot could've been better by tilting the camera up a bit and also by having the camera lower (slightly below eye level).
Thanks for this useful info! I actually thought it would be better to just fill the screen with the main subject so you won't have that "wasted space" above it. But I guess eye-level is a good argument, too :).
When the subject doesn't fill the screen, we typically put a prop such as a plant to fill the "wasted space." It's all good stuff. There are different styles of photography and the "rules" are just guidelines. They can be broken if it's done tastefully.
The points you were making are more important though because the performance of the "actor" is more important than the framing and the lighting and all that other stuff.
That happens to a lot of people. The same happens to musicians who are not used to recording. They play perfectly but, as soon as you press the record button, they start messing up. It's a psychological thing.
Hey man, good to see you back on here. MzBeez said that you were back. Now that my employer decided to kick me out, I might have some time to get to things and get started again.
You want feedback on this video?? Well, eh... wearing Ohio State stuff might you get in trouble. You see... Tennessee Volunteers rulez!!! :D *hushes*.
There's some good things, too. I like the intro that you got started with. Keep using that one. I also like the new channel layout.
Hey mate. Yeah, I think I've pretty much found a new direction for my channel, so I'm back in business. By the way, if you can arrange a Volunteers sweater, I'll gladly wear that next time.
P.S.: you're gonna get things started again? You and what camera? ;-)
Feedback is important, but its rare to get constructive critisium, i try to do so but far too often people will be simple, ie "great video" or "Gay fag".
YouTube is laying its final nail in the coffin on the 16th. "premium content" and advertisers get prioity over us vloggers. A sad day for us all, but we shall continue to vlog nonetheless.
Hey Shaun! Unfortunately, a lot of feedback that is given on YouTube isn't that great. That's why it's important to actively try to get in touch with people and ask what you want to know. When I started out, I got some valuable tips from jefftunes and Blade376. And right now, I'm trying to help other vloggers out.
As for the 16th: I'll just wait and see what's gonna happen. Don't worry too much... I'll still watch your videos ;-).

Well, you're excused from not looking into the camera... just focus completely on your piano and play the stars from the sky, mate ;-).
