Night of Reckoning: Davey Richards vs. Ric Ellis (WCWC Title)

I heard this match happened a while ago, I really like Ric Ellis and noticed how he wrestles a lot like Davey so this was pretty much a dream match to me. Too bad Ric got injured in that damn tag match so the match lacked because of that, I really they have a rematch soon now that Ellis is wrestling again and has recovered

This is going to seem like a really random thing to compliment...but that ring is really great looking. A lot of Independent shows have rings that either look like the most ramshackle crud or are just plain boring to look at. This ring looks really professional, it reminds me of the kind of rings you typically would have seen back on the early WWF Saturday Night Main Event shows. And the REALLY blue ropes give it a neat look.

I know that Pro Wrestling is choreographed/scripted but i genuinly didnt think the outcome was predetermined in this....Richards was so vicious.

This is my first introduction to WCWC, obviously Davey brought me here. I thought it was a great match. I actually didn't realize there wasn't commentary until someone in the comments pointed it out, I guess I didn't notice because Davey was running commentary the whole match haha. Very good camera work especially for such a small company. Not sure how many people were there but they got a treat for a main event and Rick certainly impressed, and I will check out more of WCWC.

A real good match,may have even been better,if R.E....had not had the knee injury!....No ranting commentary let the action speak for it's self...which i like...Splendid all round camera skills that was held with a steady hand & good ring lighting enhanced the pleasure of viewing.....Thanks for posting...it's Appreciated...

@muscleslam I always enjoy reading your commentary on wrestling matches. On this occasion, I am intrigued by your speculation that this match may have been better had Ellis not been suffering a knee injury. For me, the fact that Richards mercilessly exploited that knee injury, with numerous punishing holds focused right on the weak knee, is what made this bout such a joy to watch.

Great sportsmanship on Davey Richards. Now that he has the championship, he wants to defend it against the guy he beat, Ric Ellis. Only he wants Ellis to return to the ring minus a bad and sore left knee. When that happens, he could see an even better match than the one we just saw. Yes! Let's see a rematch! And let's see a better crowd to attend that card because this is better than what WWE/TNA can do main event wise.

Gotta love real wrestlers wrestling with injuries. Not the break a nail and you're out guys of today in big promos. Oops at 1:47. Nice dragon screw at 3:54. Nice single leg crab and karate type kicks. What was that at 11:17, a snapmare slam? Impressive ankle lock, better than Angle, Shamrock and Swagger. Boy was he pissed after the superplex didn't finish it. 13:55, jumping sambo suplex? Benoit would be proud, nice crossface and headbutt. Nice sharpshooter.
