FMP surely is a very good anime because of its story and graphics just like Hayate no Gotoku. But for me it's just my #2 favorite anime. Ah! My Goddess is my#1 fav anime and better for me as it has better affection on me the way the story happens. Try to watch it and compare the stories. They are both good but you will see why I said Ah! My Goddess is better. XD

full metal panic to me the greatest thing I have ever laid eyes on. when I saw fmp for the first time I almost cried. FMP doesn't only have action and comedy but also drama, romance, passion, intimacy, life, death, truth, it has functua if there is an anime that is number one it would be Full Metal Panic if not #4 or #5. If full metal panic was a woman it would have it's own car, its own job, it would be love and respected by all. needless to say that its rack would be awesome. FMP ROCKS.

Either or. Neither are original source material. Both are based off of a series of text novels. The manga draws inspiration from both the anime and manga.

As it stands, the anime has no real ending. The series halted after the first half of The Second Raid. It's been years since and there seems to be no continuation in sight so far. :(

Anyways, I'd simply watch the anime first then pick up the manga if you run into it.
