This is as close to WW2 style bombing that there is in the world today. B-1s and B-52s are cool and everything, but every summer, firebombers go out there and get the crap kicked out of them by thermals and turbulence to put their 'bombs' on targets if not to save lives, definitely to save homes and livelihoods. God bless the pilots, mechanics, and owners of these true warriors.
When i wrote the frist message I was on no sleep, That means i was up for three days with out any sleep. I think i said that in one of the frist messages i wrote. and you can put out a forest fire it may take time but it can be done. It all depends on what level the plane was at when he drop his load. If he drops it to high then the water well turn into mist. You have to be at the right level to do anything to the fire.

yeah i watch the video and the plane put water on the fire like they post to but the fire just came back again. like i said before there made to slow the fire down not to put it out. i
dude im a fire fighter i due this for a living i know what planes. i don't need you to tell me. I probably know more about fire and planes then you do. just because you film them doesn't me you know shit
yeah, you're a well educated 'fire fighter', can't spell the word DO properly; barely capitalize anything; and how do you 'know what planes', that doesn't even make sense. And in your own words, waterbombers DO something, they "slow the fire down" at the very least. You can't possibly believe that men on the ground can put a forest fire out? They can prevent the fire, they can starve it, they can defend against it. But no man on the ground can PUT IT OUT.
you know planes really don't do anything, they just slow the fire down. they cant fly low enough to do anything to the fire, by the time the water gets to the fire. its just like little drops. doesn't really do much to a fire that's 600 feet tall and burning at 2000 degrees
You are obviously oblivious to what you just watched. Rewatch and pay attention around2:55.there is clear evidence that a large burning area got doused by one pass of this beast. What we need is to make more of these (instead of more machines of war). Stick with the prop jobs. The 747 idea is a bad one. This thing can reload on the wing. If there were more than two, those fires would not stand a chance.
Thanks for posting. I was driving south on I 5 across the bridge and checking out the boats when I saw this beautiful bird in the cove. I was honored to to see her in person. Awsome aircraft!! Great piece of history.
DUDE this is hella cool who ever got this video. to bad the plan could not stay till the fires were out. But it cost around 10,000 dollars a day for it to be here.
This is as good as the videos I saw in April at my sister's. Her husband is one of the pilots and we got a personal tour of the base and planes. Very impressive what they do. They are the last of their kind.
Canadian plane, Canadian technology, Canadian crew. On loan to the US Forestry Service. Plane is based near Port Alberni Vancouver Island BC and is on annual contract to the Government of BC. Say thank you Canada.
Too bad we couldn't hear the music of the engines in this video. The sound of the engines are much more impressive than the so called music which accompanied this video. Otherwise, really great.
Please lose the idiotic freakin so-called music !!!!!!!

Cost over $20,000 per hr to rent.
Love these planes
I should get up to Port Alberni ,Vancouver Island to film this beast.

Well, fire fighting in the Northwest is not San Diego! It takes some planning.
Use your mind, explore different then you!
