When I was little, I thought his bed was the neatest thing. It was so flashing and bright! .....I realize now, looking back, that I had a very miniscule understanding of the whole thing.
@voicetube I didn't think Arthur was the greatest. I don't remember if I saw 10-what that was. but I just remembered... wasn't Goldie the girl in Tootsie too? Dudley and her were good together. Long before Mrs. Doubtfire.
@klwewf I know why I got confused between Goldie and Teri, and I think you're right it was Teri. I just hadn't seen it in so long and I was thinking blonde. At least I'm not the only one. Gossage54 is thinking jessica Lange. LOL That's Kong's girl.
As for Mrs. Doubtfire I have no idea where my train of thought was since it was 4mos ago. Definately confused. maybe my brain was muddled from staying up too late at odd hours. LOL I'd have to be insane to confuse Dudley with Pierce. LOL or Robin
You're still confused. Here we go: Goldie Hawn was in THIS movie and NOT Tootsie, Jessica Lange WAS in Tootsie and portrayed a character named Julie Nichols. Teri Garr was ALSO in Tootsie and played a character named Sandy Lester. Dudley Moore was in this movie and Arthur. Bill Murray was in Tootsie and Ghost Busters and Groundhog Day and NOT Arthur. And, Chevy Chase was in THIS movie and National Lampoon's Vacation. Hope this helps. :)
@PirateOfLoserville Tell me about it!!! It's not like they're new releases and a lot of them aren't even for sale on DVD or video. But they seem to never say enough is enough let the public have it. Even cable!!!! You see movies as old as the hills end up on pay for view or premium channels!!!!! And these are movies that have been on free TV a zillion times. You're already paying high enough for basic, and they can't even give you that!!! It doesn't make sense to me.
I really like this movie...it has a good story, great actors, a very creative director, good music...the main theme is superb...I love it!!! At Stanley Tibbets apartment, the bed...is it called a "stanley bed"? Or how is it called that kind of bed-in-the-wall?
DUDLEY MOORE WAS A GENIUS. As good as Goldie and Chevy was in this (and they were), Dudley stole this movie. His character always came in at the wrong (right) times!
Those are magical moments in cinastic production. Goldie is so funny when she says "-But Stanley! Where did you get the idea!?" and turns up the light. It's almost like when I try to approach my girlfriend in bed. I can laugh when I think of it :) Dudley then attempts to shield his body with whatever clothes he can find. Very funny.
OWNS! 1 OF THE FUNNIEST MOVIES EVER! If you're home on a Saturday night and you want to laugh your ass off GET THIS MOVIE W/ THE QUICKNESS! {{{{^_^}}}}
This clip is one of my favorite of all time, no quersen about it. I'am allways gone remeber the small brittish man with the nasal voice with this scene. He maby was't the gretest of acters, but when ever he did somthing he hade that speciell touch and sparkel in the eyes. And this clip really shows my point.Another remeberble scene in the movie "10" when Julia Andrews/Dudely lies in bed discussing if broad do it for money. BTW it's a great move. He past away fare to soon.
Loooooove it! Best scene ever made! Ooh, Dudley has the funniest face expression when he looks at Goldie's body! Does anyone know if Goldie's apartment were filmed in a studio, or at 430 Vallejo?
I loooove this film but this is the bbbeeest section!! I particularly hooowl with laughter when I see that bed...and the disco ball lighting...and the pointing - QUATROPHONIC!! Where does that tamborine go - no wonder the bed gets in a pickle near the end!! LOVE IT!!
Dudley Moore was a great comedian. Remember how he was dating Susan Anton in the 70s? She was at least 6 feet tall--and yet they had such chemistry. --Ms. Pogle
"You're put onto this world to do your things..I'm put onto this world to do mine and if by chance our things do meet...That's groovy!" Very primitive and funny,looks like a pimp.What happened to Dudley Moore?
What a shame:-(...I liked his acting a lot as a kid and when I look back at this scene I still laugh...he was a valuable actor and artist(pianist)and he deserved more recognition...
i first saw this when i was like, nine, and i fell in love with him. i wish somebody would post some of "wholly moses," he's a scream as herschel, the stargazer.
OMG thank you sooooooooooo so much for posting this!!!! :D Think you could post the scene where Dudley's in the whorehouse too and meets up with Goldie again?
