Death's sound changed a bit each album, but their stuff fits together as a consistent whole. Try listening to something from this album or the new one, then listen to something from spheres.

Morbid angel releases Alters in 89 ? ...so they were part of the "(florida & swedish) SECOND wave"...together with Obituary, Entombed etc. First wave were Celtic Frost / Hellhammer/ Pentagram / Possessed. When morbid angel started...DOESN'T MATTER cause... no album release = no impact on the masses.
