why don't they show movies like this anymore. i mean, the movies today are good (excluding hannah montana, twilight, or hsm) but these movies were done with hard work and lots of props, not special effects or computers. i would like to, just once, see this movie on disney channel, because this is a classic. a disney classic. This is a remake of the original film, MIGHTY JOE YOUNG. I remember seeing the original years ago and it always stuck with me. Shades of King Kong here, but not as dramatic. Brilliant film all the same.

I agree 100 percent on what everyone has to say about the music. Mighty Joe has a horribly underrated soundtrack(it's criminal almost). It's also very rare for any movie to get me teary eyed, but this movie(this scene patricular) really hit home. :(

I love how the kid pitched in to help Joe after Joe had saved him giving an example that then everyone followed. And yes Gorillas are and can be very kind there are 2 examples in real life of Gorillas actually helping kids in distress that have fallen into their enclosements.
