I remember when this tune was the shit. I was working at Electric Boat in Groton, CT on the best damned nuclear submarines in the world {"We build the best"}
Any Fucking Way...
In the North Yard shithouse, in one of the groody stalls where you did your morning buisiness, there was a little parodied poem written on the wall of one of the stalls:
I was driving and hit a red light. The pizza delivery guy next to me had this song playing and a frustrated look on his pimply face. I thought, "How appropriate."
I'm in the US and I've always loved the Kinks. This is my favorite song of all. So many to chose from...and I'm an old fart. Listened to Low Budget all during my school years (and everything before and after). Thanks for posting!
Dave has a KICK ASS CRUNCHY sound on his rig here. Sounds like a Marshall JCM 800 w/ mods that make it so friggin tight and ballsy! Almost like a VH sound.
Thanks for posting...have loved these guys since the very beginning when they were part of the original British invasion. What a great time musically. Yes, I am a dinosaur but I have seen some awesome concerts.....ha!
Listen for great music like this on a new radio station called "OffTheCharts" - featuring 70's (and some 80's) lost hits and chart wonders!
Go to Live365.com, type OFFTHECHARTS in the Search box and click on the station logo. The audio stream should begin. Become a VIP member and listen commercial free!
this is a group that rocked until they made it here in the usa. they were better then every beatle other than john. two brothers working to be rock stars. they were so ahead of their time.
@therebelwaltz He did some time at the hospital and so did some of the people he fail on. But he got to do some time in jail too, serves him right. I guess you could call him a APEMAN.
When they did this song in SEATTLE'S old sports area, on there Low budget tour. Some dumdass climbed up into the rafters in the ceiling. He lost his grip and down into the crowd he went. A lot of people believed it was part of the show. But it was the real thing and the moron could not fly like superman. And after that the kinks played Catch ME I Am falling. And I swear it is true Seattle rock history. NO BULLSHIT.
@aerowayne1 "Some dumdass (sic) climbed up into the rafters in the ceiling. He lost his grip and down into the crowd he went." lol What an idiot that guy was.
talk about flash back, i was stationed in san diego, back in 79, i remember, being at a party at mission beach, when i heard this song for the first time,
It was 1979 my first party , big bash in beverly hills, classy people, my cousin took me with her and all i can remember is lights and disco balls , smoke , the bar was full of people lol, this song was blasting out towards the L.A. hills, fricken cold that night lol

"Woke up this morning
What did I see
A big brown turd floatting under me"
Always rememebred that.
The POEM, I mean. Not the turd.
