  • Just picked up my 19. Thanks for the video, it was very informative. One question, when you store your pistol, do you store it with the trigger in the forward position, or in the fired position?

  • @MrGolfbum When I am not carrying I store it unloaded in the "fired" position as you call it. Thanks for the kind comments

  • After watching this vid It's a cinch now*

  • Thanks so much I couldn't get my brand new glock 19! Open and after watching this vis it's a cinc, thx

  • Thanks for the help man, one question tho ... can I use ABRO 80 to clean and lubricate my glock? or should the cleaner be a strong form of automotive carburetor cleaner spray? Thanks for the vid, thumbs up and shared!

  • @CaptainBerz Thanks! Great video by the way. Keep up the good work!

  • Awesome video. Very detailed. Thanks for posting!

  • @promod400exridr Thanks for watchin and the kind comment..

  • What kind of paper towels are those you're using (the blue ones)?

  • @PrOpHeSyFX just blue shop towels...

  • Berz, I'd appreciate it if you could clarify something for me; you can clean around the firing pin with Ballistol, but don't want to get anything thicker near it? I've heard people screech about even getting Ballistol near the firing pin and other areas/mechanisms you mentioned. How long have you been cleaning your firing pin with Ballistol? During that time, you've never had any strange issues? Thanks in advance for the response.

  • @TritonAlias Nope no issues with me, I usually use residual cleaner on a qtip near it. Alcohol works best...

  • @CaptainBerz Thanks again for the response.

  • Very thorough, also very easy to follow. Great vid.

  • GREAT VIDEO THANK YOU

  • @BSHARK2321 Anytime, thanks for watching.

  • are u using ballistol? where did u buy it?

are u also using paper towel?

  • @seattlenurse27 yup, midway..i like blue shop towels...

  • Love the glock 19. Watch my latest video shooting the glock 19 at the new Gander Mtn Academy in Lake Mary, Florida

    Glock n Load,

    Mike

  • thanks for the video it really help a lot more with seeing n hands on wrk. then the book

  • Thank you for sharing your knowledge. Well described and well edited.

  • @pacificloon Thanks for the kind words.

  • I believe it would be best if you rack the slide with the ejection port facing forward the ground that way there is no or little risk of the shell (if there is one loaded) snagging on the ejection ramp and being set off....just saying

  • Do you play Fallout? Just wondering...your intro...

Anyways Ballistol is a great Glock lube for us gun toting hippies and yuppies alike...

    Peace

  • @CamuMahubah haha, nope I do not play them..

  • can't you just put it in the dishwasher...???

  • @thetruthis9 Which part? You can do anything with water, just make sure you dry it! lol

  • @CaptainBerz the entire gun...!!!

  • Thanks for the video, Cap'n. I just bought my first Glock and was wondering about its cleaning. Thanks to your informative video I now have a very good grasp of the details. Thanks a ton, brother.

  • @HLHFunFilms Thanks for the kind words. I try and get to the details for people who have not done it before, instead of acting like people assume much, cause in reality if people knew they would not be looking for the video...lol

  • Congrats on having the #1 Glock 19 cleaning video on YT sir =)

  • @FireArmsResQ Thanks, I try to make the best training videos on here. I train people at my job on things and understand breaking down to basics is important... ;)

  • thanks for the great video, just fired and cleaned my first handgun (the G19) today and this was a big help... happy shooting

  • @seedofsparta Awesome! Glad it was helpful, have any questions let me know....

  • great video man. just got my first firearm. got the glock 19. very helpful video man thnx.

  • @0402gavin Awesome! Glad to help, thanks for the kind words.

  • is it bad to twist the brush when inside the barrel? does it matter which end to push it through from?

  • @aannkk I start on the chamber side and go forward on everything I clean. Glocks cleaning rod they give you does not have the ability to spin, I forget why, but I use one that spins. Usually I like to let is spin freely, the rod, when running the brush through because there is rifling in there...

  • I talked to a buddy of mine a (retired Army Veteran) and he said it's best not to put oil in the barrel of the gun. Because when you fire the oil will get hot making it hard to shoot straight, he suggested I put one drop of alcohol and dry it out. I noticed a slight discoloration on the metal pieces where I had put a very small amount of oil (polymer). Thought I would share this.

  • @Captncronica Interesting, I will do some research. Thanks. I was under the impression it just blew out with the first shot....

  • @Captncronica As a military veteran I can tell you that this is true. The oil will attract dust particles. This may not be important if the weapon is stored in a case, but when carried in the open it will attract and retain dirt and other particles.

  • Thank you for your help. I just bought a Glock 19c, it was my first time cleaning it before I go to the range. I'm new to firearms and I'm learning.

  • @Captncronica Glad to help, if you have any questions, throw out to me....Happy glocking...lol

  • First off great video, very informative. i just have a question about the Firing Pin Safety Check. i see when you took off the slide u pulled it back and eased it forward. Is that all there is too it? is there any concern about too much or too little pressure? if you could elaborate that would be awesome, thanks.

  • @mechak Actually I just did it unintentionally, nothing magical there....lol

  • @CaptainBerz same as PiattRunkie, watching and cleaning as we speak. thx again.

  • @mechak Thanks!

  • Great video. just got back from the range with my new glock 19 and you helped me make it sparkling new.

  • @PiattRunkle Awesome, glad to assist.

  • great video well done . you stuck to what is important ,the gun and the cleaning equipment. u didnt waste time with what wasnt important meaning showing yourself or the area you are in or anything like that. you concentrated on the weapon and slowly went thru everything. you took the time to go slowly thru everything about cleaning it .sometime you see training videos where people rush thru the stuff and it is hard to follow or keep up with. yours was great five stars

  • @jalbiie I am meticulous to begin with..lol...I train people in things at my job, so I usually make sure to demonstrate things so if you never did it, you could do it. Most of the time I succeed. lol...Thanks for the great words, appreciate it.

  • thanks

  • @rockhardpoof Anytime, thanks for viewing

  • Thanks Berz!!!!....

I have no experience about polymer gun before, and I plan to buy a new Glock 19 soon.

Your Video helps me to know how to clean gun in detail.

Again ur video is awesome :)

  • @sagga18 Glad I could help, thanks for the kind words...

  • Great video, liked the "twirl, whatever that does for you" comment, haha, but nice vid for a new gun owner like myself.

  • @bullme109 Wow! Thanks for the nice comment. Hope you have fun with your new gun...

  • Ordered some Ballistol today from firehawktech - competitive pricing. Check out an interesting history of this oil/cleaner. There is a section about unusual uses that includes dippipng a shaving razor blade in some of this oil to significantly extend the razor's life.

  • @glocky2 Very interesting, I will check that out...

  • @TakeItFromThere Wow! Thanks for the comment, I appreciate the kind words...

  • I like ti use a Q-tip with some alcohal on the areas I do not want Ballistol to stay on, great Vid

  • @TheHobbyistChannel That is a great tip, I do this as well but I could not find my alcohol for the videos... LOL

  • Very good video Sir, I never clean my Glock 17, lol. Once in a while I just add lube and clean barrel. I figure it's like an AK47 and doesn't need to be cleaned.

  • @semiautoriflelover LOL! Supposedly..

  • @CaptainBerz One day I came home from the range and my girlfriend said are you going to clean those guns or are you going to come to bed, I choose the bed and never looked back. Now I don't clean them much.

  • @semiautoriflelover I agree and can understand.. LOL!

  • Thanks a ton for the video, brother. I feel like I have a MUCH better understanding on the products now. It seems that using RemOil for everything from start to finish is a bad idea...which was information someone else had given me...

  • @UrbanCombatSurvivor Glad it helped. I was actually going to make one more specific, but if that work, ok then.. LOL!

  • @CaptainBerz Nah dude, you don't get off that easy, lol. If you're willing to do more, I'll be waitin for that too :-p

  • @UrbanCombatSurvivor Yea, I was not really getting into to many specifics. I guess I should do that, in regards to the gun. LOL! I will work on what to use and how to use video....

  • Nice. I'm thinking of getting the non-stray type of that cleaner. I've heard most gun guys on youtube are asked to do a cleaning video, and a gun safety video as well. Did you get a lot of requests for this?

  • @badjeep02 Guilty, I asked for a cleaning video, lol. I've seen a ton of them, but none that explained what the different oils and solvents were, exactly.

  • @badjeep02 Actually, I have two other cleaning videos made up of a M&P 45 and Taurus PT92, I am going out to shoot them and review, and will upload them like the glock 19...

  • Nice technique, but I swear you guys must PreClean your guns lol :)

  • @robbie574 This one i did, had to make the video twice....LOL!

  • right on... i just made a vid about detail strippin the slide........ doesnt hurt to do every 1,000-1,500 rounds or even sooner for a carry gun ya know....

  • @ixVENGEFULxi That is where I was headed next, LOL. Beat me to it..
