Since the government (taxpayers) are paying for the teachers, etc., to run the school DURING the regular school-day, thus the school-day should be for education on non-religious subjects (reading, writing, maths, science, etc.).
If a Catholic-owned school wants to offer Catholic religious education, no problem.... just do it right AFTER school.
Parents who want RELIGIOUS education could just have the children stay a bit more AFTER the END of the school-day.
