Of all of Magma's spiritual explorations and journeys through the human soul, Wurdah Itah is the deepest and most significant for me. We pass through stages of struggle and resistance to the highest understanding: the readiness to pass over from the safe and known to the strange and mysterious, to sacrifice life itself for belief.
@Hyardacil The original recording is from the album Ẁurdah Ïtah (Dead Earth in Kobaïan, Magmas invented language), the DVD is called Mythes Et Legendes Volume 2.
I say this tour in L.A. at the HOB in Hollywood. I was in the pit and to this day have not experienced anything that comes close!!!!! To make it more surreal, that was the second time I saw them.
Wudah Itah - My favorite Magma work. Though I think the Trilogie at Trianon performance is superior. The tension and energy that night was through the roof. This performance is a little lethargic, though still great.
Wow, who neg'd you on this comment??? I agree with you on most every point. Favorite work--yes. Trianon a killer performance--yes. I'd say this performance is a bit less spirited and careful rather than lethargic, but agree with you that it has its moments. Whoever neg'd you doesn't know music.
I, for one, don't feel that this performance is any less than the Trianon--just different. Trianon, with 6 vocalists (plus McGaw), had a bit more of a classical chorale feel and a faster tempo, but many of the lyrics and riffs are more clearly articulated in this version.
