I've dropped my iPhone 4 many times I never have cases on either one and theyr both only sporting scratches and dings. 3:20 iPad actually uses regular hardened glass, NOT Gorilla Glass. It will crack when dropped from about 2ft (min) just like its iPhone counterparts. I dropped mine from quite a height and it shattered the screen completely

When you compare video you need to talk about the 3D features which Tegra 3 can do that iPad 2 cannot. For example advanced lighting effects such as specular lighting, diffusion, and reflection. Additionally it has true physics capability. Download the Glow Ball Demo and play with the effects. Ipad2 is simply incapable of such effects.

@Fletcherismine No.The software isn't yet beaten.The iPad 2 is still first place with apps.The hardware on the prime is better but,the main point is what are you going to use it for.The app store is rich in apps but,the Android Market has not released any apps like infinity blade or talking friends.Who uses a camera on a tablet but,even though the prime has better hardware it is true that it lost on the app variety.So I can conclude that fans of android or haters of apple would get it the prime.

I've had both but on this moment a lot of software isn't ready for ice cream sandwich and screen resolution of the transformer prime isn't good supported. So i still go for ipad 2. It just is a better hardware software combo. It works more fluidly.

@shikori7 yes it did beat the ipad, but i have tried both this 2 tablets and the ipad 2 feels overall like a solid device it is much smother and there is a lot of apps with massive quality. The prime is also good (very good in hardware), but it steel feels like a toy, the apps on the market are very bad and there is not even a tablet place for the apps on the market. In 2 years when more apps join the android tablet market it will win. And im not a fanboy, my phone: galaxy s.

Just to correct you there is in fact a place on the market specifically for tablet applications.

The Android market is still ok though, not as much choice as what iOS users have but then again Android tablets are not very widespread. (Not many people buy them, a bit of a niche market atm)

Apple users have to pay a premium for all of their hardware, software and content and they pay more for a lot less in terms of performance and capability. Ask yourself another important quest, do you actively use GPS in a tablet?

Anybody using the prime as ultrabook? I'm looking for an ultraportable workstation with great colour accuracy. No laptop has an IPS screen. So I intend to buy one, root it, put Ubuntu on it. When you have such a powerful pad, with 4 cores, a great keyboard, long battery life, webcam and all, why run a crappy thing like Android on it? Why not use it as a full mobile workstation? The Asus Prime is not going to kick my iPad, but it is going to kick out my MacBook Pro. Stinking display on that one!

Second i want to say that i have both the iPad and the Transformer Prime, I was blown away at the quality of this device, nothing to the date compared to the quality the iPad oferred,, but as i held the tablet, I could not be but amazed at how good it feels in your hands, right how the tablet has the Ice Cream sandwich Os, and there is no lag whatsoever.

The ipad has new multitasking gestures with ios 5. Use four of five fingers to swipe left and right between apps, pinch to close an app, and swipe up to show all your open apps. Does the transformer have that? NO!! Also, most of the apps on the android market have not been tablet optimized. The Apple app store has over 100,000 apps made just for the ipad, and can also run iphone apps. The transformer's quad core CPU is a waist of money, because their is nothing it does that needs 4 cores.
