I've never found anything creepier than this accordion-face monster. Please forgive my naming; I haven't played this in a long time and can't remember the name of that thing or any of the characters.
this shit don't make any sense it's like the people who created the monsters in silent just gave up they keep putting monsters that has nothing to do with the game or keep putting the same ones from the previous games the best SH game was the 1st second and third it was good and original

They're created from the mind of the hero when he goes to Silent Hill. Other people can see them, but they were created to torment the hero, help him overcome his demons.

Some people say Homecoming proves that the Silent Hill God actually exists, but I don't think it proves anything. Silent Hill is a town that brings delusions to life, and that's what it did for all of the families. When shown the item that reminded them of the child they killed, the guilt overtook them and manifested itself like Pyramid Head did to James.
I literally JUST beat this game, (I got the hospital ending, I thought killing the mother was bad thing, but I see now its what I shoul've done( I enjoyed the game but I thought the fighting system was weak and there was way too little health and ammo. The 2nd one was the best, the 4th was the scariest, but this had the best plot and cutscenes. It may also be the most fucked up/most disturbing one. Never played 1 or 3.
One question though" What's with the bonus scene? it makes no sense!
@BadAcidVacation you should play the first silent hill and the 3 one they go together and they are really awesome,some of my favorites,those two our really bad ass
how did you get all your weapons back? I lost all my weapons except the dagger after the dude knocks you out cold and that woman tries to kill you with a drill.
@4166363 There's a room not far from where you start in that area that has all your stuff in it. Just be thorough in checking out the different rooms, you'll find it.
@X0LinksLoverGirl0X Joshua really died by "accidental drowning" by his older brother Alex. The reason Amnion came to exist is after Alex found the truth about Joshua's death, and it was Alex's fault !
@X0LinksLoverGirl0X He was dead the whole time, the only reason alex saw him throughout the game was either silent hill fooling him or a mirage of his own making.

So, what happens to Alex? And he just leaves Joshua dead there!? What a stupid ending! Are they going to make Silent Hill? That ending is horrible and why did they make Josh die? Complete wow Silent Hill makers, that disapoints me.... So, in all those Silent Hills you made, to come up to Josh being dead? WOW!
@lol2funny1 I looked up on wiki, Joshua is suppose to be DEAD before this silent hill event takes place. Alex killed Joshua by accident long ago, because Alex was suppose to be sacrifice to the Silent Hill Cult, instead of Joshua. Out of jealousy, Alex snapped Joshua's neck and Josh fell into a lake and died.
@lol2funny1 Cult is like a religion type of organization, but it's usually use to describe as "evil" religious organizations. Alex is Joshua's bigger brother, but turns out the family legacy isn't going to be pass down to him, of course he's going to be piss and want to kill his little brother.
@JinNakamuraDante Actually...they were fighting over the Shepard family ring. Alex was just doing the "big brother teasing little brother" act and Joshua fell back, hit his head and fell into the water. Because of the lack of visibility on the night of the incident, Alex wasn't able to find his brother before he drowned. It was an accident. They clearly showed this in the cutscene just before this boss fight. <_<
It was just ironic that Joshua met the fate that was intended for Alex.

@lol2funny1 yah.in the second you get a letter from you "dead" wife mary so you go to silent hill cuz in the letter she tells you to go to there special place.in the third you play as heather (cheryl) who is harrys doughter.in the fourth idk,i never played it and ive heard its not really a true "silent hill" game.and in this you try to save your brother.

this damn thing moves so slowly and unrealistically. if it were real, it would be jumping around, one-shotting everyone in the way. same for pyramid head, but he has a reason to move slowly, the heavy sword, heavy helmet, the agonizing pain of the spikes digging into his skull inside the helmet, its kind of a sham of a final boss
Also, I heard the face of the monster high resembles their mother, which I guess it does and would make sense that Josh would in her stomach. Another odd tidbit, is that when you observe pictures in their parents bedroom of Josh and their mom, Alex makes comments about how Josh is like a baby in them.
@thinkingorplotting Nah, I appreciate your help. I really enjoy thinking about the different things in the Silent Hill games and hearing other people and what they see. I have always been a fan of video games that make you think. It's becoming a well-known fact that video games can badly affect creativity and imagination so it's awesome to come across a game that actually makes you think about symbolism and the story they denote. It makes playing (or watching) them so much more interesting.
It is funny,but i was actually watching on the news that video gamers have a quicker reaction time then those of the same age who don't play video games. Hm, I wonder if games that make you think (like Silent Hill) do the same thing with your mind?
I really love all the things Pyramid Head/ Bogyman could represent in this game.
@thinkingorplotting I don't know. That would be interesting to test out though... But it may also depend on what games you play. For example, I play Fire Emblem a lot and I can't really see that improving my reaction time... (My average run through is 43 hours ;)) But I could see it with Silent Hill most definitely.
Ah, the versatile Pyramid Head. Ever awesome and ever confusing. ;) I love that one ending in this game where there's the two of them. He really could be anything, which is epic.

Oh yes, the mystery shrouding Mr.Pyramid Head in the game makes him that much more awesome. I kinda like the theory were (some believe) he represents Josh or Alex, which does make sense,but at the same time people say Amnion represents Josh or Alex's guilt. It is all rather interesting.
@thinkingorplotting That would change quite a few aspects definitely. But that is also the great thing about Silent Hill. There is no right or wrong interpretation. It's open to everything you could imagine. If you can argue the point, then it stands. Obviously one couldn't say he's a ballerina. He isn't THAT versatile. At least... I don't think he is... That put a very funny image in my head...
Yes, I was to scared to play Silent Hill when I was younger,but once I got past the somewhat frightening monsters, the actual interpretations can be more interesting or disturbing then anything shown in the game.

Lol. I'm going to go see if I can find one to be honest. I know Photobucket has some pretty cute ones actually but I have yet to find a ballerina... It's funny how ballerina was the first thing that came to my mind when thinking of Pyramid Head's versatility. It's a good thing I'm not a fangirl artist...

@thinkingorplotting Lol. It most certainly does but that seems to be James for you. And Henry... Heather's the only smart one. She pushed a mattress down the hole first. Silent Hill does pose just as many logic questions as it does symbolic questions.
@SolarEclipse1897 Yeah, I'd have to admit, Heather was pretty cunning. Maybe they made her seem smarter then the male characters on purpose, to make up for her lack of physical prowess? Although if you ask me, Harry is average, Henry is a pansy, James is kinda fat, and Travis is out of shape. Alex seems like the only macho man. xD
@thinkingorplotting Maybe so. Travis was kind of... out of shape. Harry's character was a good one in my mind since all he wanted was his daughter and he loved Heather despite her past. James... was kind of stupid... Just in my opinion. Heather was tough and awesome though. She just didn't care and dealt with it. All in all though, I liked Henry the most since he just took everything in stride but was so surprised at the smallest things. He provided amusement. ;)
@thinkingorplotting I must say though, James did provide some entertainment with his stupidity. It is a shame that Pyramid was brought back as a psychotic serial killer, in my opinion. He was so much cooler when he had a distinct role... Slicing people in half just doesn't strike my fancy.
@SolarEclipse1897 Yes, James made me and my sister giggle chronically. I kinda like the fact that Pyramid never attacked Alex, or anyone else for that matter. He seemed like a rapist to me in SH2. XD But then again, James WAS a horn dog.
PH seemed most out of character in the movie, though. AND he was outside. I don't ever remember him being outside.
@thinkingorplotting That is a good point. He never did appear outside... To be perfectly honest though, it would be easier for him to corner people... well, with a corner. The best place to do that would be indoors. Still, the movie and Homecoming kind of damaged his image. I know that sounds weird since he is an executioner but still. He wasn't a psycho. At least, not to that extent.
@SolarEclipse1897 Really? He seemed more of s psycho to me in SH2 then in Homecoming. I mean..he ONLY attacked Alex's dad,but didn't he like...attack Maria in SH2? I know she's fake and all,but still...or maybe I'm just mixing stuff up. xD
@thinkingorplotting Nah, you're not mixing anything up. He attacked Alex's dad but he just seemed, overall, like a psycho. In SH2, he represented James' emotions and desires. In Homecoming, he was... there to attract people as a cruel killer. Pyramid Head was kind of... in conjunction with the entire cult so he kind seemed like the leader, to me anyway. That made him seem much more sadistic. That's just my opinion, though.
@SolarEclipse1897 I see what you mean,though. He DOES seem more like a representation of James then a killer in SH2. Hrm, I think in SHH PH was more a representation of not one person,but more of like fears and stuff, which would make him more of a sadist.
@thinkingorplotting That is a good point and it makes a lot of sense. I'm still iffy on whether or not portraying him as a sadist was a seemingly good idea... He wasn't connected very well to anything or anyone in particular. To me I always though of him as the big guy in the cult. If you've seen one particular ending, that's how he seems. Or maybe he could be the personification of fears rather than representing them. He IS the fear. The fear and terror created Pyramid Head. If that makes sense
@SolarEclipse1897 I completely understand that. I see what you mean and I do agree, they should've given more hints or make some type of connection to PH more noticeable in SHH. I mean, the kid pictures kinda connect him to the tittle Bogeyman,but still....

That makes so much more sense why he wasn't called Sphere Head! Inside the helmet is his head and inside the pyramids are the deceased. PH is an executioner! He cannot be avoided just as death cannot be avoided. Only if you realize and accept it does anything change. (Yeah, it's sweet. Sorry Merulu)

i almost bought this game once or twice... but im glad i didn't this game looks well to put it frankly extremely awful.... but maybe thats just because i can't stand 3rd person shooters

Because of the lack of visibility on the night of the incident, Alex wasn't able to find his brother before he drowned. It was an accident. They clearly showed this in the cutscene just before this boss fight. <_<
It was just ironic that Joshua met the fate that was intended for Alex.

@lol2funny1 yah.in the second you get a letter from you "dead" wife mary so you go to silent hill cuz in the letter she tells you to go to there special place.in the third you play as heather (cheryl) who is harrys doughter.in the fourth idk,i never played it and ive heard its not really a true "silent hill" game.and in this you try to save your brother.

this damn thing moves so slowly and unrealistically. if it were real, it would be jumping around, one-shotting everyone in the way. same for pyramid head, but he has a reason to move slowly, the heavy sword, heavy helmet, the agonizing pain of the spikes digging into his skull inside the helmet, its kind of a sham of a final boss

Also, I heard the face of the monster high resembles their mother, which I guess it does and would make sense that Josh would in her stomach. Another odd tidbit, is that when you observe pictures in their parents bedroom of Josh and their mom, Alex makes comments about how Josh is like a baby in them.

I have always been a fan of video games that make you think. It's becoming a well-known fact that video games can badly affect creativity and imagination so it's awesome to come across a game that actually makes you think about symbolism and the story they denote. It makes playing (or watching) them so much more interesting.

For example, I play Fire Emblem a lot and I can't really see that improving my reaction time... (My average run through is 43 hours ;)) But I could see it with Silent Hill most definitely.
Ah, the versatile Pyramid Head. Ever awesome and ever confusing. ;) I love that one ending in this game where there's the two of them. He really could be anything, which is epic.

Oh yes, the mystery shrouding Mr.Pyramid Head in the game makes him that much more awesome. I kinda like the theory were (some believe) he represents Josh or Alex, which does make sense,but at the same time people say Amnion represents Josh or Alex's guilt. It is all rather interesting.

@thinkingorplotting That would change quite a few aspects definitely. But that is also the great thing about Silent Hill. There is no right or wrong interpretation. It's open to everything you could imagine. If you can argue the point, then it stands. Obviously one couldn't say he's a ballerina. He isn't THAT versatile. At least... I don't think he is... That put a very funny image in my head...

Yes, I was to scared to play Silent Hill when I was younger,but once I got past the somewhat frightening monsters, the actual interpretations can be more interesting or disturbing then anything shown in the game.
OMG...that made me giggle. Knowing the types of fangirls, there is definitely a picture of him as a ballerina somewhere.

James... was kind of stupid... Just in my opinion. Heather was tough and awesome though. She just didn't care and dealt with it. All in all though, I liked Henry the most since he just took everything in stride but was so surprised at the smallest things. He provided amusement. ;)

The best place to do that would be indoors. Still, the movie and Homecoming kind of damaged his image. I know that sounds weird since he is an executioner but still. He wasn't a psycho. At least, not to that extent.

@thinkingorplotting Nah, you're not mixing anything up. He attacked Alex's dad but he just seemed, overall, like a psycho. In SH2, he represented James' emotions and desires. In Homecoming, he was... there to attract people as a cruel killer. Pyramid Head was kind of... in conjunction with the entire cult so he kind seemed like the leader, to me anyway. That made him seem much more sadistic. That's just my opinion, though.

@thinkingorplotting That is a good point and it makes a lot of sense. I'm still iffy on whether or not portraying him as a sadist was a seemingly good idea... He wasn't connected very well to anything or anyone in particular. To me I always though of him as the big guy in the cult. If you've seen one particular ending, that's how he seems. Or maybe he could be the personification of fears rather than representing them. He IS the fear. The fear and terror created Pyramid Head. If that makes sense
