Two Vocalists (One vocalist that plays an instrument, probably keyboard / synthesizer)

I'll probably get bashed for this, but the idea is pretty sick, to me.

Three - Two guitarists (excluding vocalists)

One bass, or two, to balance this out.

One drummer.

I am mildly disappointed though, because half the bands that were in there didn't deserve it because of the other kick ass bands with amazing breakdowns. I.e. (Devirgination Studies by) Whitechapel, (Drifts by) After the Burial, (Versus by) Within the Ruins, (Infinite Death by) Thy Art Is Murder, (The Goswell Divorce by) Hester Prynne, etc.

I do give him props for having a breakdown vid without Suicide Silence though.

Breakdowns are annoying if you're like these bands. It's basically their whole song. Which makes its completely boring to listen to. These bands are a step up from SC3N3 trash, but in my opinion they all sound exactly the same.

ya i mentioned to someone before who asked me to do the videos in numbered order that I could never because they are often very repetitive, and don't have the same feeling as the first time you hear them.

i don't agree that they encompass the whole song, they are just points that exemplify a deep or emotional shift in the pattern the song was taking before. These represent like 5% of the songs themselves...with exception of a couple.

mathcore is sort of a branch of metal that comes from hardcore, but it has heavy rhythmic jazz influences, which means a wide variety of time signatures are used. When you combine the jazz influences and the hardcore influences it often sounds extremely chaotic and dissonant. Basically its hard as shit to play and doesnt appeal to that many people. If youre interested check out the dillinger escape plans album calculating infinity or the number 12 looks like you's album mongrel, both are great.
