  • Hell, I just make steaks outta the whole thing when I buy em. After trimming, of course. But good tips nonetheless :)

  • This was very helpful to me and I cannot wait to

try your technique, thank you very much. Great

    video.

  • thanks much for the info

  • That's a good set of tips there.

I'm never happy with the supermarket cuts, so time to visit a proper butcher and do it myself.

    Thanks Lila.

  • @kayaker7070 Thank you for watching :)

  • you should try out for Master Chef Season 2.

  • Very nice! Thank you so much!

  • Where I am at now these are cheap. I picked up one this weekend for about $17. 30 minutes worth of work and I had 6 steaks, a nice roast a tail piece and some small tender bits. Wish I coul buy them at home for the same price.

  • @powerplantop Wow that is super cheap -where r u?

  • @AsianCookingmadeEasy Right now I am in Chile.

  • @powerplantopoh- that must be so nice to get that so cheap right now; too bad you can't bring some back :)

  • nice video ...you make it look very good....thanks for the post....thumbs up

  • there are 4 parts of beef tenderloin; chateau briand, tournedos, fillet mignon and fillet steak...

  • @yaleraven The chateaubriand is the filet mignons left uncut (the center) and the tournedos are if you cut the tail into steaks :)

  • god i love your videos.....

  • How many oz would you consider your steaks to be? 8 oz?

  • @maplepoon That is a good question. I'm thinking these are about 5oz or so since I only cut them an inch thick :)

  • Thank you for your instruction I will buy when it is on sale and try it myself.

  • You make the $70 something sound so much cheaper...

  • @maplepoon For all the meat you get it's much cheaper. I sent my husb to the grocery store the other day and he came home with 2 filet steaks for $38! He spent $22 a pound, which usually they are about $20 /lb around here. So buying the whole loin you save $10/lb on the steaks. But if you only eat the best steaks and don't use the rest of it , then it may not be worth it :)

  • great tips! loved the video! Could you use the head piece as a roast?

  • @JimboJitsu Yes definitely :)

  • very very nice. I do mine the same way :) Your always a pro, by the way my wife and I love your sesame chicken recipe. Only thing we change is the amount of sugar.. we use 1/2 as much and it makes the local chinese food taste like garbage. Your awesome keep the vids coming.

  • @moparmanhemi1 Thank you! :)

  • FIVE fillet mignons!!!! couldyou please tell us how much the whole thing costed? XD

  • @kyh7501 A beef Tenderloin is just a big Filet Mignon. its called tenderloin in the U.S. . the word Fillet Mingons comes from europe if I remember correctly.

  • @moparmanhemi1 thank you for the reply! Howeve, what i didn't get was what about the top part and bottom part she mentioned?

And I don't really know about the detailed parts on beef ! :)
