Nick youve done more for social imobility then thatcher, sorry mate your a cunt. The student fee rise will put off smart poor and middle classes going off to uni, while the rich and the private school people it wont have any effect, on your a cunt your a liar and 9000 is not comprimise sticking at 3000 is a comprimise you dick. And the argument that the county can't afford it but a subset of the tax payers somehow can afford it plus intrest is just more proof your a cunt using false arguments.
oh and by the way, im dnt support a mainstream party, so i dnt believe that the solution to things are simply to bitch about our leaders. so do what ever good where you can. so if any students reading this, or parents trying to help with homework.. im am a university mathematics student, and i also do part time personal tuition.. so feel free to email me if you ever run into any problems
wells, its all very well going on about we need better education.. but the horrid facts are im afraid not liberal. people are only interested in learning if they understand it will better themselves. however most children are too young to understand this. therefore education must be forced on them until theyr mature to realise its the best for them. should be forced to stay in school, and disapline and deadlines should be strict. perha0s even the cain in extreame cases of misbehaviour

Clegg has been to the Hazel Blears School of Total Gibberish. This guy is a jerk - it's loony left wing education policies that have reduced social mobility- these clowns and NuLabour just don't get it, that's why they carry on their moronic class war and their so-called "positive" discrimination.
Ha you can call Hazel Blears left wing! she is so NEW Ladour, shes Blue to the core. and if you look at her voteing record it all fits in with a neo con agenda, apart from her voteing for gay rights, and even that was used by government as another way of extracting money out of people.
You must de centralize education. Parliament should hand power to local areas completley. All authorities will take examples from eachother and a workable system will develop. It may provide some competition
Labour are bad for schools, have the libdems as Labour were the ones who made 1 in 3 SPECIAL needs schools close you know why? Yes, Labour don't care and take disabled childrens liberties away! Go Libdems!
My parents were screwed over by the education system, I was screwed over by the education system, my 6 year old is being screwed over by the education system. We have done everything we can to help educate her. She has all sorts of knowledge from all the activities we as a family. It is very hard with a poor background, we can't even afford to run a car. But we are a hard working family and do are very best. Unlike our education system, overstretched and overcrowded.
That overcrowded her class is over in the keg stage 2 school (juniors), when she is in key stage 1 (infants). They are taken over the other side for breaks and lunch. She has read and been read to from a very young age and is years ahead in her reading and other activities. She being held back and being held back from the very important things she needs to learn now at this young age.
Having taught for 35 years in two countries, in state and private schools I would like to add my penny's worth. Community schools, community schools, community schools, with residential boundaries clearly defined and facilities for both academically gifted and other gifted children as well as children who are less academically inclined. Leave the school to teachers and parents to run. I could back this view up, but have run out of space. Politicians, make a good system possible, then step back!
As someone who pretty much was held back due to to my background I fully agree with this statement. I had no choice but to goto a failing school which is now closed, and feel that if I had the right support I might have achieved more than I had, even with a disability.
As usual there are an enormous amount of issues that have not, and could not, be covered in a couple of minutes...but well done for giving this issue the publicity it so well deserves and needs.
There are so many reasons why children from poor backgrounds are more likely to fail - ranging from lack of role models, lacklustre attitude at home, parents who can't help with homework, the housing the kids live in when they go home...such a mountain of hurdles to leap over-some serious thought needed
What about the cuts to colleges? And what about free university education? We could stop funding nuclear weapons to free up money for education. What about all the libraries that are being closed down? What about organizing a protest?
Easy to understand, liberal, and of course what everyone (ahem, who is not too political) wants to hear from LibDems. Excellent idea to post on youtube, small clips like this can be expanded as readership catches on.
Nick, can you please address the problem of the secret family courts in Britain? How can a democracy continue to put 200 peaple a year into jail without a fair trial?
We write the Children Acts...an out of control child is armed with a social wrecker, solicitor, barrister + probation officer when they should be at school. I have 4 grown up kids all working but no taught them about Tax, Nat Ins, Council Tax that was left to mum to teach. Mum teaches the private domain + school should teach + prepare for the public domain. A big gap about how our society actually works was left out.
Cont; The teacher said 'It's not the reading it's the understanding of the story that's important.' I told her that my son was understaning these 12 year old books or he would not be able to read it out using different character voices for each character.. she shut up then.. My son has gone on to be a great accademic.. and we are a very poor family! Could have turned out very different if I allowed him to be 'held back!
At last!.. One example would be one of my sons who knew his alfabet before starting infant school. By the time he was 6 he was reading books for 12 year olds, but his teacher sent home a book for 5/6 year olds. I spoke to his teacher about the childish book and said that this sort of kindergarden stuff was long behind him. Her reply was that he 'Needed holding back to allow the other children to catch up.' Excuse me? She went on... and I'll ad more on another message as I'm running out here.
What about abolishing the secret family courts, the feeding ground for greedy lawyers and corrupt "professionals", which are the cause of so much misery for families, and spending the money on improving schools, libraries and parks instead?
Well said. Every child needs to have the equal opportunity to have a good education leading on to a career of their choice, no matter what their social background is. A thing I noticed in school was the peer pressure between poorer-background children to not do well at school, I think that is a real problem too that needs to be tackled.
I think you will find that, that is a result of hereditary and cultural Bravardo due to generations of people being screwed over by the capitalist system.
educations should be free, by this i don't just mean fees for further education, but also that education or "better education", from public schools, shouldn't be able to be bought. i think its sad that people can get a more involved education just because their parents have more money. people should also be taught how to teach. this is a very productive thing and would come in useful for people who want to help their kids and other people.

It's funny you even used the phrase "loony left". Clearly you don't really understand politics if you still think in terms of left and right.
