The tupolev 160 is a incredible bomber. It's much better in performance then the B1 lancer. His payload, range and speed are seriously better only the electronics are older but replaced. I think when it comes on electronic like countermeasures, decoys and radar that western technology is a little bit better.

Topol M is a Minuteman III equivalent that's actually mobile. My preference would be to revive the Midgetman as a replacement for Minuteman, even it most of the launchers are fixed (mobile launchers=triple costs). I'd also want to see more emphasis placed on ALCM nukes as a lower profile deterrent. Keep the SSBNs as they are.
However, although we may even agree about silo based weapons being "dinasours", the point I was trying to make is that it is moronic and short-sighted to unilaterally* reduce the playing cards in your hand.

It was first in 1945 they sent troops to the European Theatre, and by then Germany had already lost the war.. actually, the K141 Kursk was a Antey class submarine, NATO name Oscar 2. regarding the typhoon/akula class submarine, none of them has been lost, currently they are being replaced by the Borei class submarine.

you can research it for yourself.! they copied the gas blow back design and bolt carrier group of the M 1 Garand he only chose to use a bottom feed mag as opposed to the enbloc clip, which the US alredy had as an option. Then in 57 the US made the M14 and soviets put that trigger assembly into the AK. FACT!
while it is a durable weapon it is not a "battle" rifle it is very inaccurate. the US only used them to cover up covert ops.

Did anybody get a look at that 1950s radar scope?It looks like the oscilloscopes you used to see in the junk yards back in the early 70s. God, wouldn't have to be in the Russian Air Force? The poor saps are flying on the most advanced outdated equipment that was scrapped by NATO years ago. You have to have an expected lifespan of about 30 seconds in a combat zone! That's gotta suck. Being Russian has to suck no matter what you do. Poor saps!

This "old-style" radar scope was recorded on camera from Tu-95 "Bear", not from Tu-160
Actually Tu-160 bomber and its cruise missiles and jamming equipment are top in their class, better than anything that yankees have.
Tu-160 is in production and gets modern equipment and avionics.
