My buddy Jaren is a musician around here. He was heavily influenced by Kurt. His band does a cover of "Polly," this song, and many others including their own music. They are called "The Bitter Nothings." I've never heard better Nirvana covers...There will never be another Kurt though. The guy was a true artist and an innovator, and he was taken from us far too early.

@Kryzazy I don't know that story, but I do know the story of how they recorded this song. After multiple attempts of playing a version of this song (which was a little louder and a little more upbeat) they just couldn't get the sound they were looking for... discouraged, Kurt left the studio room, went to the lounge, laid down on the couch and started playing quietly to himself. The producer heard it and started to record in the lounge instead of the studio and BAM! This was the outcome.

the story behind this song is that, Kurt, was caught having sex with his girlfriend in high school by his mom. His mom forced him to move out and he ended up living under a bridge in Aberdeen. the "something" is a metaphor for his mom's trust. I know this be reading "Heavier than heaven" by Charles T. Cross, the only accurate biography about Kurt.
