over in ontario my friend and i saw the exact same thing, we live in a small town and she lives about 5 minutes away from me, i said look over near the bay behind your yard and there was the EXACT same thing in this video. it was pretty low, moving at a steady pace, as i was racing to get my camera her and her mother both yelled, it vanished ITS GONE! and it was, all of that 5 seconds looking for my camera it wouldnt have disappeared over the horizon yet. it was as bright as a street light!
@scarletttdior Hello, just to let you know this happened for about 20 minutes that's a rough estimate! My boyfriend saw it first on his way back from the grocery store, he got home and yelled for me, I looked outside and got all freaked out, so I grabbed my camcorder and ran outside to capture the lights! Absolutely!!! Flares have a sharp internal light which is hard to look at and it lets of steam and bits as it is falling. Also flares do not rotate. This is definitely a UFO!!!

I'm here on Vancouver Island and somthing similar to this is happening EVERY NIGHT for at least the last 5 months! The difference is that the ones now are moving much more and are blue, purple. green and yellow.
so the "official explanation" is 6 flares dropped from a Buffalo search and rescue aircraft dispatched from CFB in order to rescue a paraglider...do you and your neighbors accept that?...I've never seen search flares in real life but I would of thought this is not how they look...for one thing the rate of decent seems way off and in the vids I've watched of real flares the smoke coming from the flare is obvious as hell and if used a parachute is easily seen.
I posted this on the Chemainus ufo page but I thought you might be interested too I've come across another ufo vid shot in Duncan 01/22/11....on "ESTEE'S SKY WATCH IN VICTORIA B.C." facebook's page there's a 3 minute shot of a silent bright glowing greenish triangle shape....much different from the other vids but twice there's the same type of dark pattern moving over the surface....man how much stranger can this get?
@carluspocus Thanks for commenting! I think I was the only one who thought that there was more to it, then just an ordinary flare! This is the first time that I've ever seen anything like this! I seen flares on t.v. and this looks nothing like the one's I've seen on t.v.
@Daedalu I did see something high in the sky with one red light it seemed, it was really really high in the sky! i'm not sure if it was a plane or what, I could see it with my eye's and I tried to catch it on video, but my camcorder wasn't capturing it on video! You could hear me talking about it as I was filming the footage! My botfriends nephew did call the cops, and the cops said that they we're flares, because some hikers were stuck in the nearby mountains! Also check out UFO's in Duncan BC
@nanyl After about 9-10 minutes it did, after it did dissapear, three more popped into the sky, one by one! The same video footage was also caught on video, in Victoria, B.C. Victoria's like an hour from here over the Malahat mountains!
@isipakee wow....wow...wow.....that is amazing!......can you tell us approx. how large and how far away it actually was?....you mention that you could smell something like fireworks so I assume it must of been relatively close... I had just finished watching the Chemainus ufo video and the footage shot of this event taken in Victoria which I thought was impressive but this video is astounding......thanks so much for sharing.
