Only a dumb ass would shift while the chain is "BAR TIGHT" Ive been riding 35 + years and I think I know how to shift a bike and I always do so with minimal force being applied to the pedals. To shift while standing up tourquing the hell out of a is very bad advise and expect pain or worse if a malfunction happens. then again I could be influenced the fact Im 6'5" 279 lbs and have had my fair share of derailleur failure
@Intelpentium54321 Mee too, what I gather is that we use all 21 but there are some combinations that we do not use. That would mean 14 useable combinations using all 7 +3 sprockets but not 21 actual shifts to get going from stop to full speed.. I had more fun with no gears. LOL
Tomorrows topic: Adjusting Brake Cable Tension. We will be telling a story about how people complain about their brakes not working even though the pads are fine. All the while we will talk about stuff that helps you in no way, shape or form. We may even grab the handlebars, squeeze the brakes and rotate the pedals with our hands during story time for your viewing pleasure. We hope you enjoy our video and take your bike to a real repair shop.
wow this didn't help do you have a link to a site where they show how to fix the derailleur. I am new to bikeing and made the mistake of taking apart my rear derailleur and putting it back together. but now it wont work. it will either be jammed up or to loose to pull anything. its a schwin traveler Ill just take it to the bike shop if I cant figure it out.

The title of this video should be 'how to change gears'...there is no derailleur adjustment here whatsoever. Stupid video!

This doesnt really tell me how to fix the front derailleur of my bike
MrComputerSaint 1 year ago
I can't get mine to go into the 3rd gear on the front derailleur. The one.
So not all gears are useable, see I learned something.
thanks

Shifting tutorial, no adjustments discussed.

Nothing was 'fixed' - was really a talk about how to change gears when chain under tension and which gear rings to use.
There are better instructional videos in cyberspace which actually instruct how to fix or set up the front derailleur.

you actually didn't share how to fix anything
